Rumours that Izale could be signing for us over the weekend, personally I doubt he will come to Walsall as he will probably get a better offer elsewhere but would be delighted if he did.

There it is. Excuse right here.

That's probably right. Lucrative Wembley final and a decent FA Cup run (and trip to Spurs) would have boosted their budget substantially.

Wouldn't be surprised if we are being outmuscled financially by the likes of Cheltenham. Sad to say it but it's true.

More to it thank we think then maybe, as soon as you hear the name Cheltenham outbidding Walsall you automatically run WFC down without looking at what the other team actually earned last season.

We're just trudgling along with the average budget, zero bonuses, they've got a much boosted budget due to things you've said above thus probably can afford to splash out this season, and possibly outbidding us.

Need a cup run. :(

Interesting choice - we have been saying we need a miracle at the moment!
Could be a good deal - sign him up and you get three for the price of one don't you?!!
Better act quick as I heard Pilate is quite keen to look at him on trial. He's pretty good with crosses so that's an improvement on some of the squad last season!

This is Walsall. It's passed from the top downwards, so technically it starts at the top.

Catch 22 ay it? If we (perish the thought) actually ever pushed the boat out a bit for slightly better players then we would be more likely to go on one of these fabled money spinning cup runs, meaning the following season we could push the boat out again.

According to Mcleod's wife, he is off to pre-season training in Marbella on Monday. Think Pompey are over there, know they have a game v Brighton. Puts an end to that made up nonsence!!

We wont be signing players with reputations of any known quality. There's simply to many teams above us in the wage bracket ranking (even half of league two) that will get the first refusals. Izale Mcleod scored 20+ goals in the league below last season, Nick Powell scored 16 odd and earnt himself a £5m move to Manchester United (i no, i no a drastic comparison). McLeod will get snapped up by a team with at least some ambition, on at least £2,000P/W with aspirations of at least a mid table finish - something we dont. Be prepared for 10 more Lamplough's that were released by Brigg Town and sub conference sides.

This season is going to be as depressing as hell. Typical that all this falls in a season when we finally have 4 local games and 2 considered rivalry derbys.

Yeah but we all know that if we did get a decent cup run it wouldn't be spent on team strengthing anyway.Ok Cheltenham had a decent cup run last season & they have used it, fair play to them but they haven't got a Sunday Market, they don't do sportsmans dinners, they haven't got an empty hotel, they haven't got big advertising boards outside their ground, they don't do boxing nights or commercial ventures. So there's enough money out of that lot going nowhere, well we all know where it's going. But we "haven't got any money" BALLS :x

I heard the Dann fee went to pay for luxury sausages in the hotel restaurant. Yep, the same sausages [post moderated] was seen feasting on. Perhaps the Club can explain that neat little circle of events!

I resign

Only 5 days till we play Sporting Khalsa and only 11 days till we play Telford :D

Do you think Telford will lend us some players?
