If there is any doubt about the fitness of Ince , Butler or Sam i hope DD
Rests them for Bristol and Shrewsbury.

We will get well and truly trounced...3-0...they will play a weakend team but keep some good players on the bench just in case the score is still fairly close at 75 mins....the gap between the premier and the championship is gigantic let alone the gap between div 2 and the premier...i dont think it is possible to have a cup run now like it used to be...unless you are really...really lucky...anyway i say concentrate on the league...we cant afford to hang about in this league more than one season.

There is always the possibility that we will also play a slightly 'weakened' side. If I was picking the team, I wouldn't start with the same team as Saturday. I think I'd be tempted to start with Ishmel, Fangueiro and Kinsella anyway.

I'd have thought DD would like to protect Butler, for one, but, with Constable's injury, we're a bit short up front. Ince is another who could benefit from a rest, judging by that strapping and Dicky has said himself that Picken's not ready for 90 minutes yet.

Latest Bolton team news added. They have defensive problems, but Anelka may play, trying to get match fit:-

Bedeau is certainly one player who could do with 90 minutes , stick him upfront with Ish . Butler is ready for a rest imo.

Not sure you could play bedeau and ishy up front together, we wouldn't keep the ball. Play Bedeau with either of Sam or Butler I say to mix up the style of the two strikers.

i think kinsella is a must as to have any chance we have to keep possession of the ball, and hes our only player who will put his foot on the ball and look for a pass whilst under pressure.

If you go prepared for a loss, then you'll not be disappointed, and might be surprised.

I'd not swap any result tonight for 9 points from our next 3 matches

They're not mutually exclusive and indeed the confidence gained from a win tonight could make those three wins more, rather than less, likely. Plus a money-spinning tie in round three would come in very useful in the January transfer window.

3-1 defeat...less than 7000 there, no atmosphere, Anelka up front in need of a goal.

However, if we can keep it tight for the first hour, then we could nick a win.

I really think we will cause a cup upset tonight, and give Bolton a real good game. 1-0 with a last minute goal from our new super sub

What a complete prat the Bolton commentator is. The thick prat keeps on making schoolgirl jokes about Pead (Peed) i.e peed on Fox. Clear off why don't you. It makes me glad I live in Surrey -and that's saying something.

Bolton summariser very impressed with saddlers...our quality of football & workrate.
