But they've also just signed Joe Garner, who's a good striker at our level.

They also have David Beavon who scored 20 odd goals at this level last season, and we've struggled vs goalscoring, quick small strikers all season. Hopefully we wont go that way this week. Think we will be full of confidence and looking to get at a team that will play tonight as well.

I'll go for 1-1, with a late PNE equaliser.
9,000 odd with 401 from Walsall.

If Grof plays I will go for 7-3 Preston. If we play anyone else as rush back keeper I will go for 3-0 to us

This is going to end up in disaster.

Grof, the man who couldnt catch a cold, against Preston. A team full of strong players who will no doubt waste their time in smashing the ball into the box. :(

To make matters worse, Graham Westley was at our home game against Lincoln - the one where Grof made so many unforced errors, I'd lost count before half time.

Absolutely. Also, that our fans give him as much encouragement as possible if he does play.

They certainly will, if he plays. It's the home game only fans that are complete and utter fudge morons (some, not all).

If Grof has a backbone he will grab this opportunity with both hands.

On that basis Preston 7 Walsall 3

Tom Finney with all seven for them.

He was awesome at Walsall Wood Tuesday. Don't think PNE will give him a stiffer test than Wood did. :)

Followed by 6-3 against Cardiff on the Tuesday and losing 5-2 somewhere (Gillingham?) the following Saturday, how many goals in a week! :D

I'd fancy us today with a decent keeper between the sticks. With that not being the case I'll go for an undeserved 2-0 defeat.

If Grof plays I wish him all the best and hopes he proves me wrong.

Come on me bbaaabbbbbbbiiieeeessssssssssss!!!

Given the Arctic temperatures up here, a few of us are having a sweep on what Mick (aka Freezing Bloke) will be wearing at the match today. Muscle vest, t-shirt and topless have all gone but mankini and bodypaint still available.

Let me know if you want in.

[Bernie mode] We beat Cardiff 6-3 at home on Tuesday 5th November. The following Saturday was the 5-2 defeat at Gillingham, with the Preston FA Cup game taking place a week later. During the 1985/86 season we scored a total of 104 goals with 90 coming in the league [top scorers]. We finished only sixth due to our poor away record. At home, we won 15, drew 7 and lost one. Other notable results that season included beating both Reading and Bristol Rovers 6-0 at home and Newport County 5-1 away[Bernie mode] :D

And the best bit was the Wolves were relegated to Div 4

Oh for the days :D

Interesting choice of words from the BBC website...."Walsall.....forced into a change of goalkeeper" :?

Heaven knows what Grof's mental state is like - he is on the bench.

Yep - there is a thread somewhere...signed on a month's loan. He's 21, Irish, over 6ft.

Sounds as though Brandy is a handful - he's been fouled three times in the first 10 minutes.
