Flumping flumpleton!

Gimps to lose by at least 3 clear goals. Utterly sm0shed.

The sad thing is I really don't care anymore - after over 50 years of support. All the love and affection has been knocked out of me.

If there was any doubt that Smith hasn't got a scooby, then the decision to bring on a defender for a striker after Butler's sending off confirms it. We were 4-1 down at this point.

Dean Smith should be beheaded, and then his lifeless ginger head carried through the town center by Swifty. Richard Taundry should be burnt at the stake for that performance too; kill them both and the problem is gone.

Not quite sure how you go from such an enterprising , bright start to pure shambolic within 20 minutes .

Oh , yes , diabolic defending right across the back.

Why did Coventry look like they were going to score every time they attacked? It could have been many many more , which isn't particularly great when you concede 5.

Mcarrey POOR ...two of the goals dribbled past him , too many moments of indecision .

Taundry POOR ...no worse than the other defenders but the whipping boy and was poor

Butler POOR ... Couldn't handle Mcgoldrick , didn't marshal the troops, clumsy and the sending off inevitable how much he was ranting at the ref. try ranting at some of your own players butler .

Holden POOR ...not as bad as the others but culpable by association.

Taylor POOR ....last two games I have seen, Crawley and today , slow , predictable , easily beaten

Walker ...POOREST OF ALL. we have needed you over the last month or so , to get in and organise and be a calming influence and stop the leaking. You are not injured. You are fat . You have let the club down who holds you as a legend.

Brandy and Grigg battled game fully , and Mantom kept going.

Good support for first 20 minutes .

Otherwise , woeful.

to say that was the worst match of the seaon would be an understatemenr but we started match really well
we bossed the game with brandy turing well running at them and causing them all sorts of problems at the back
it wasnt any shock that we took the derserved lead.
but after the goal went in it was like they all have switches on them and they were turned off to save the batteries
we became deeper and deeper and let a poor coventry side start to dominate possession and put us under pressure.
im sure if wed have attacked and got the 2nd goal that we would have won confortably.
then it was the taundry show
i ahre to single 1 man out as they were all god awful but how richard taundry gets onto the starting 11 is beyond me
he has no skill no pace no idea where he is on pitch no idea where he should be marking the attacker
as soon as their winger realised how slow and pathetic he looked he expolited it on every attack.
if he starts saturday then we will lose yet again as you may as well play with 10 men.
then we have a young goal hungry striker that happens to be our top scorer that cant even get on as sub at any point we were behind.
grigg didnt try and playing 1 up front doesnt work .
butler may has well just give up as for all his passion he has lost all his skill
maybe he has to be 2 defenders with taundries poor displays but hes gone and should be dropped as captain as for who should get ut well they may as well hold a raffle.
i just cant begin to start about our tactically inept manager.
some of the decisions he makes in games are beyonf belief and how he can keep his job sfter this god only knows
pay him up with sky money and go get david kelly and lets get some passon back into this side who we all know are capable of much better as early form showed.

No win in 11teen games is one thing.
But to ship five against a team managed by Bobbins or Robins is totally unacceptable.
But, hang on... Lincoln was totally unacceptable as well.
What has it got to take, really?

Decided last minute I would go as a mate of mine who supports Villa fancied a lower league game. I will tell briefly his unbiased view of Walsall. He failed to see how Taundry was a professional footballer and was shocked our manager hadn't subbed him by or on half time. He also was shocked how small our team was and how often we gifted Coventry chances. A fair statement of today I feel and what most of us have thought all season so why has our manager who has seen every game not noticed this or dealt with this. While Smith has signed some okay players he has no balance to the team at all. What can we do though on a 2 and a half year contract we are stuck with him. Hutchings was 8 points adrift by the time he was sacked so I guess we have a long wait.

Well just back from the latest horror show.It just goes from bad to worse and it seems there is not a damn thing anybody can or will do about it. We are stuck with a clueless manager given a new 2 and 1/2 year contract by a incompetant board.

The bizarre thing to me is that there must have been over 1000 Saddlers fans there today who were ALL resigned to the fact that we are totally useless and are going down.

Nobody thinks the club will act and do what any other club would do and sack the manager. Talking to varoius people today the general consensus seems to be that if Smith goes (which he should) who in their right mind is out there desparate enough to be employed by Bonser.

Todays performance highlights that the players themselves have totally given up.

How the hell are we not in the bottom 4 after 15 winless matches. In a macarbre sort of way I'm interested to see if we can create a new club record for winless matches.

I don't get why Smith has dropped Downing and Benning when on the last 2 games they have played they both played well. Putting some hungry, unfazed kids in could be exactly what is required when we in a shocking form like this. Holden and Taylor have been poor the last few games (no worse than plenty others before anyone else says it). At least Downing will get a game now that Butler is suspend.

38 is the all time record - Derby in the Prem / Chumpionship.

17 straight defeats for Sunderland recently - we had 15.

Couldn't find any info on winless runs for us. Got to be getting reasonably close.

This is the most disappointing aspect for me. A decent Walsall following and they all go home angry.

I remember playing Forest away in 2008, a similar sort of Walsall size attendance as today and I'm sure the Walsall fans made the difference between losing and getting a point (Mooney equalised to get a 1-1 draw).

Today we may as well all have gone home at half time.

I remember a few years earlier watching Gareth Ainsworth equalise for us at the same ground to achieve a similar scoreline.

Happy days.

Just come back from watching an exciting FA Vase 3rd round tie [Larkhall Athletic v Kidlington] only to find the Saddlers have got hammered at Coventry. No surprise, really, and not looking forward to coming up to see Yeovil next week. Still, at least it is character building for my 7 year old Saddler supporting nephew, who is already used to disappointment at early age.

First 15-20 minutes i thought we were great. A two week break and a jaunt up Snowden had done them a power of good. How naive I was. My thoughts on the individuals.

McCarey- This will be his last game, Grof back next week. Rubbish positioning and feels it's ok to have a go at his own supporters. Heart is not in it so go back to the Dingles

Taundry - Did do some good things, but always, always contrives something to prove he is a massive liability. Where is Purkiss?

Holden - A poor game but shows better nous in the opposing box than Grigg. Felt the need to do a Roy Keane on a Coventry player who went down injured that sparked a melee. Pathetic.

Butler - Useless Captain. I believe he is doing his refs badge. Don' t know why he is bothering because he thinks he knows it all already. Shot his mouth of and got sent off. Had the temerity to shrug his shoulders as if to say he didn't know why he was given a red. It is called DISSENT you idiot. Perhaps he hasn't done that bit of the course yet.

Taylor - Worse game in a Saddlers shirt ever and I think he knew it. I give him credit because he didn't go missing. Benning should be given another go though.

Mantom- Tried but he is nothing special. Shame he won't have a chance to play with Flo again because the Belgian ain't coming back

Featherstone - Ineffective ...and that's being generous

Paterson - Gave away the ball time and time again. I blame him for the second goal when he minced about on the halfway line and got robbed. Send him on loan out to Rushall Olympic to learn the basics. No one is teaching them to him at Walsall

Westcarr - Jury still out for me. Took the goal well and did some good stuff but disappeared for most of the second half

Brandy - Best player out of the dross who showed up today. But easily pushed off the ball (sorry Febian. but no amount of hanging from the banisters is going to turn you into a top striker). Would like to see him play in the Westcarr/Hemmings role because he does run at players and create chances.

Gigg - Looked like Jack Whitehall and played like Jack Whitehall. Make him sub and make Bowerman as first choice striker. Where was he today? Injured or signing a contract with Hibs?

Chambers - Second best player - Should have come on for Paterson at half time

Downing - Not sure if he did anything, but on past performances should get a run in the team in place of Butler.

Smith: Thinks tactics are a brand of mints. Why can't he see what we and the opposition managers have known for ages. Got go Dean. Sorry.

On the positive side, I thought the Ricoh Stadium was quite impressive. Scoreboard not as informative or hi-tech as ours though.

From the moment we went 1-0 up that was dreadful.

McCarey- Let in 5 goals, that about sums him up.
Taylor- Unusually poor game from him, given the run around for large periods and petulance earned him a booking.
Taundry- Just how? How does he get a professional football club? How does he get in the squad? How does he get in the starting line-up? How was he on the pitch second half? Any club with a mediocre scout would target him.
Butler- Outclassed by McGoldrick (very, very good player at this level) booked for a bit of pushing and shoving and sent off for arguing with the referee. Wouldn't be such a bad booking if you weren't a professional footballer who should be fully aware of the rules, let alone the captain of the club and a QUALIFIED REFEREE YOURSELF!!
Holden- Not a good game but best of the defenders (says nothing). Goal disallowed for offside at 4-1.
Featherstone- Always there or there abouts, seems to be get under the feet of Mantom and visa-versa.
Manton- Looked adequate but same as Featherstone.
Patterson- Wasting potential and quickly. Just run down the wing, try to beat a player and get a cross in. DO IT! Oh and stop pussying out of tackles.
Grigg- Runs about a bit, not going to win headers against defenders much bigger than him, would be much better if we could get the ball into his feet, and even better still if we could try and do that in the box
Brandy- Probably the best of the bunch, tries hard, looks to beat a player occasionally needs to be a bit more direct. Would like to see him have a go down the wing.
Westcarr- Ok first half, looked knackered second. Forgot he was on the pitch to be honest.

Couple of big things: PLAY TO THE WHISTLE!! Their third goal, looked like Taundry got pushed in the back for it, should have been a free-kick. (Holding both hands up in the star position while jumping probably didn't help him get the decision) but then he looks towards the ref and complains, rather than looking at he ball or McGoldrick who was tucking it in the net. Also happened with Patterson in the second half, appealed for a non-existent handball while the ball is still knocking about somewhere in the penalty box.

The first goal from the corner. They had two players over the ball with Patterson blocking the short. Featherstone came over to help him but was told to get back in the box by our glorious leader. You can guess what happened: Short corner, pass it around the one defender drive into the box and slam it home. Why was Featherstone not allowed to come out and make it two on two?

Looking on the positives. Good support again, over 1,000 travelling. I actually liked that ground, will be a shame when there is no football being played in it within a few weeks. Erm, the car park was nice for £3. That's about it.
