not much to be said really. Well done Lincoln and good luck. Our players and managers should be ashamed. I bet they are not as ashamed as us.

Close to giving in. Never seen a team so capable of taking inept to another level. Never been in Smith out camp like I was Hutchings, Mullen or Merson - but do the right thing now please Dean, and resign. We have a woeful budget and squad, how can we rectify that? A cup run. Home to non league Lincoln, with a 2nd round tie vs 2 other non-league sides - professional teams (like MK Dons & Tranmere tonight) get the job done and get a 3rd round draw.
Now we're even more stuck in the turd with this pile of garbage. If we take more than a coach full to Crawley it'l be a miracle.

We are truly becoming the embarrassment of Midlands football, absolutely shameful result, and on the slippery slope to League Two unless our abysmal leader unlocks the purse strings and allows some investment into this team. Can he not see that relegation will lose us far more than the few quid he surely could invest on strengthening this squad to allow it to at least hold its own?
No point calling for Deano to go, he's just been handed a two and a half year contract by a board that had watched us fail to win in (was it) eight games - now eleven. What other club would have done that at such a time? The contract should have gone in the desk drawer for a few weeks to see how things progressed, but too late now. The only way now is to back Deano with cash, but we all know that JB won't do that, so IMHO we're in for a rough and embarrassing ride in the coming weeks and months.
Mayday, Mayday, SOS, come in someone, we are sinking fast!

I never really wanted a cup run - pretty busy with work and with Xmas coming up, I couldn't really afford the expense.
I only wanted Slough - so it was fitting that we both went out.
If Williams had scored at the end, we might have won on penalties.
We'll look at the positives and look for a response on Saturday.
We can now concetrate on the league.
We should take the positives: we scored two good goals with our top-scorer substituted and our other striker on interntational duty.
We have restored some pride by not giving in until the end.
A club transformed

Beevers would have gobbled us up in the next round anyway, had we gone through.
Now there's an image to conjure with
Might as well get the misery over with now (a bit like when Carlson shot Candy's dog in Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men")
Forget the 1930s Depression, we have a 'beaten run' on a par with the 1989/90 season on the horizon...

I bet Dean's dog was dreading this result:
"Walkies!"
When the dust has settled and we have all spat our dummies out (me included obviously) we will all realise that this result was as predictable and inevitable as the changing of the seasons.
Maybe we can watch our youngsters progress in Division Two - give 'em all two year contracts, I say, and at least then we can get used to it. By then, they might have surpassed 8 stone.
Another Stockport in the making, mark my words...

Wasn't even that shocked, listening on the radio I didn't even feel any emotion when the third Lincoln goal went in. As Walsall fans we have had nothing to look forward to for years, just monotonous, tedious failure. I want a cup run, I want players I care about, I want to enjoy supporting my team again.........#embarrassing

I don't know if I've said this before, but I fudge hate Bonser for what he has done to this club. I hate, nearly as much, the the dull thicktards that have trotted out excuse after bloody excuse for his antics. Between you you have let this club down ...... BADLY.

Spot on. I myself am still mystified by this too. Has there ever been an explanation given as to why he was offered the contract at that time? As you say Geoff, we had just gone 8 games without a win, a potential cup run ahead of us, so why not wait.
Flabbergasted by some of the decision making that is taking place on the pitch, at the side of the pitch, and in the boardroom at the moment.

The only decision making that has gone at our club is to ensure the rent cheque is the first one written every month.

This gives an entirely new meaning to the word "optimist"
But it's nice to have at least one positive post, even if it is Panglossian to the point of insanity.

Well its a long time since I have felt this angry, embarrased and let down all rolled into one. Just cant see any light at the end of the tunnel for us at the moment as well which is the hard thing to take.
Battered over 2 games by a team 2 divisions below us, hammered on a weekly basis in the league, a team that couldnt give a monkeys, a manager pushing the boundaries of Merson/Mullen and our illustrious chairman Mr jeffrey bonser. Can even the biggest optimist find any positives at the moment because I really need to hear them. Thank god for an away game lay-off!! I would probably end up in trouble if I went to Crawley.

Can someone tell me a foolproof way to evade the swear filter so that I can vent my spleen on all the onanists who are currently masquerading as Walsall Football Club (that has clearly been abducted by aliens and sent to Pluto or somewhere further away, like Bilston)?

You had to be there to see how truly shite we are.
A mediocre conference team gifted 3 goals by a crap div 4 standard side. Not fun. Several players were a disgrace to the shirt, no pride, little ability. Too gutted to do the analysis, but Ginge should be sacked now - but you can guarantee that ain't gonna happen.Div 4 here we come - and I bet we won't scare anyone down there.

right i was one of the dozen that went tonight and im so wishing id have stayed at home and watched im a celebrity
i wish i could have got out of there
outplayed by a very poor lincoln side who in fair deserved to beat us as we have a non league side in the making out there.
where do i start
firstly brandy - has pace that obvious but plays far too far forward and were pumping long balls into him
hes 5ft 5 for feck sake hes not going to score from a header!
taundry ive lost track of what postiion hes playing to be honest hes like a player on football mananger that doesnt belong anywhere but you have to play him as hes only defender. good goal but really thats all hes v much a non league player at best.
grof - this bloke is an effin clown was flapping like mr tickle most of first half no wonder the defenders have no confidence in him.
poor at catching poor at kicking he will cost us 2 goals a game why oh why os jimmy not starting hes got to be better even rotund and old id start him saturday.
butler- completely lost the passion doesnt look as tall as a defender now no leadership no longer mr reliable hes not a viveash or roper hes not fit to tie their boots at the moment
bowerman - looks like a poor mans constable at moment but getting little or no sevice at all. he needs support up front this 4-5-1 is not working as were hoofing it up now and we have no height.
wont go through the rest as theyre all just as bad.
worst decision ever giving smith a contract in hindsight this man is tactically inept taking off a striker to replace with another when youre losing a match.
the only bright spark is benning looks good in our poor side and will be snapped up in jan window,
all in all another pile of crap the team have completly gone and were relegation fodder and thats not me over reacting.
rip smiths contract up sack him tomorrow pay him up drive him far away from bescot as possible and put o'kelly in charge for a bit because we wont win another match at moment with this team formation and tactics.
blame bonser blame smith blame the players take your pic theyre all to blame

Agreed. It's Probably the lowest home turnout for a competitive match in the 22 years at Bescot [1,414], including the JPT.

Has to be THE lowest point in the history of Walsall F.C. (for as long as it remains a football club) what an utter embarrassing shambles of a football club, the humiliation is acute....Smith resign now, you have nothing to offer this club.
Let the kids play on Saturday, we are going to be utterly humiliated at Crawley (a non league club not long ago, but one with ambition) so we may as well let the kids have a bash, all the 'senior' players should be on 'garden leave' until some Blue Square minnows take 'em on board. They should be ashamed to call 'emselves professional footballers, we should have done a Tranmere tonight, but no, we let a Conference side make us look like the pap we are...how many will THEY score against us on Tuesday next...
