Portsmouth (a) - 15/09/12 - League 1
A trip to the felines of the Football League - 9 Lives Pompey.
No matter what they do, they seem to get away with it.
Their full record this season reads:
P 5 W 1 D 2 L 2 GD 0
They haven't won at home this season so far, and I believe that we will be too good for them in this match up (wouldn't have thought about saying that when they were buying the FA Cup a few years back!)
For those that are attending, look out for Mr Portsmouth Football Club (the bell end ringer!)
Predictions?
2-1 Walsall
Bowerman
Baxendale
McLeod for them with a penalty after a dive of 9.7

Walsall to win (-10) to nil.
McLeod to scavange for discarded food after the match as part of his feral existence.
Portsmouth to pass through an inter-dimensional portal and be able to sign Del Piero, Usain Bolt and Francis Jeffers in time for the game.
They'll still be cack.

Although Pompey had an impressive looking 3-0 victory at Crawley yesterday those of us who saw it will know the game was turned on its head by the two sendings off.
The result will however give them some confidence, allied I expect to some spirit, all of their players are on short term contracts so they've got everything to play for, we must underestimate them at our peril. However if we apply ourselves as we have done recently there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to pick up a point or three.
Four of us staying over the weekend, hopefully a decent Saddlers following.

Don't quite understand the ticket situation - it says it's not all ticket but we've only been given 350-odd. :? So can we travel without a ticket on the day of the game or not, because I would have thought there's a fair chance we'll take that many?

You have the whole away end so no problems about space. Be 300+ I'm predicting anyway.

Great ground, Fratton. Will make some nice flats one day...

Jimmy Dickinson will be spinning in his grave.
1-1 draw, we'll dominate, but fail to convert a succession of chances, and they'll lob Grof for a last-gasp equaliser, after testing him all game, leading to everyone saying how cack he is in the post match comments, despite another assured performance between the sticks.

I'd really love to be proved wrong, but there's too much over-confidence around for me. Years (and years) of supporting Walsall leaves me in no doubt that the bubble, such as it is, is about to burst......
Izale McLeod to get Butler or Holden sent off, we go on to lose 3-1 having taken the lead early on.
Please let me be stupidly mistaken.

Portsmouth 3 Walsall 1.I just think they'll be too strong for us at Fratton Park.Has anyone seen our games sequence this season so far? It reads WLDWLDW.... so on that basis it'll be a loss again anyway.BUT i do hope to God i'm wrong.

Re: Portsmouth (a) - 15/09/12 - League 1
On Friday, Portsmouth discover whether their Supporters' Trust has been successful in its bid to take over the club.
So Saturday's game will either be played in an atmosphere of joyous celebration or renewed despair.
If the Trust do get the nod it could have a massive effect on the mood at the club - and the performance of the team. And vice versa if Chainrai takes charge again (they'll immediately be bottom with the reinstatement of the points penalty).
So I'll say 1-1 if Mr Chanrai takes over. 2-1 defeat if it's the Trust.

Would be well chuffed with a draw from this one, but got a feeling a 2-1 defeat is on the cards.

I'm going to this one and bringing 2 - 3 non Walsall fans (soon to be avid Walsall fans). I'm going for 1 - 2 to the mighty Saddlers - goals from Butler and Hemming with Portsmouth getting their goal in the last ten. Prompting an array of squeaks from the away contingency.

Thank you Derby, Exiled indeed but exiled 1st removed. I never lived in the Walsall area, born and bred in Reading - dad thought it best I support Walsall though, thanks papa! He chose the 98/99 season to entice me!

Be more than 5235 there. They got 12,000 at home to Oldham.
1-1, Flo for us.

Good on them. The budget's obviously still got a bit of fat in it, and this is an important game in terms of head space. Bragging rights if we get any sort of result against the "big" teams.

Even more motivation now for a move up the table, with Brentford losing at Leyton Orient last night :D :D

People who are travelling tomorrow are advised to set out a bit earlier because of extra traffic on both the M27 & M3 because of the Southampton Boat Show.

Nice to see these phallusheads have learnt humility - try some of the comments section

Sickens me to think that I once sympathised on Pompey's plight a couple of years ago with one of their fans when he uploaded some Monkey Dust on to Youtube.
I'd go into the gents with the first-time-cottager for a point tomorrow to be honest.

If there is any justice - Pompey 1 Walsall 3
Saddlers 1 - 0 down until the 79th minute. Butler, Holden (set pieces) & Baxendale turn the game upside down in a stunning finale!
