Brentford (h) - 01/09/12 - League One
Back in League 1 action, back at home after 3 consecutive away games (Oldham, Notts County, QPR).
Brentford had a "faltering" start to the season, but last Saturday beat Crewe 5-1, so maybe they are starting to turn the corner.
Brentford's seasons so far:
Capital One Cup Rd 1 - Walsall (a) - Lost 1-0
League One - Bury (a) - Drew 0-0
League One - Yeovil (h) - Lost 3-1
League One - Crewe (h) - Won 5-1
Hopefully, being at home, and knowing we have already beaten them once this season will go someway towards another victory for the mighty Saddlers!
2-1 Walsall
Att: Sub 4,000

After planning on going to Notts or QPR I'm off to neither so welcoming this.
1-0 Walsall cause I'm biased. Crap turnout of 3,761.

Walsall 2 - 4 Brentford
We'll go in at half time with a 2 goal lead, Brentford will come out and hit us with 2 quick goals after the break. Our confidence shattered, they'll go on and seal a deserved win.

Now with Chambers out of the squad we will need to shake things up a bit. Put Paterson upfront with Grigg and start Baxendale on the right?

They have Kevin O'Connor back from an injury and they will start Toumani Diagouraga unlike they did in the home game, they also have their new Scottish Striker back that banged loads in last season El-Alagui or something like that. Our midfield will be shattered from the other night.
0-1 Brentford.
3,301
251 Bees.

This is gurrole Worsul mate...what we have is what we'll get...so we all better get used to slaggin off Griggsy for the rest of the season, cus Deano appears to be picking him up front like a stuck record!
0-2 in front of 3,781. Down to earth, after appearing to put in a good effort at QPR (which surprised me, I apologise for the 'men against boys' comment in the match thread!).

Re: Brentford (h) - 01/09/12 - League One
I agree that the attendance will begin with a 3 which is sad because we're playing some decent stuff.
Could be any score. They'll have their tails up following their demolition of Crewe, we might be a bit tired following our mid-week efforts. But we've beat them once - no reason why we can't beat them again. Let's go 2-0 to The Saddlers with a Will Grigg brace followed by folk moaning that he didn't smile enough when he scored either goal.

If we play the good football, and the results dont falter too badly, i think some extra fans might turn up eventually.
Dunno if ill be at this one but hoping to be there, tough game though.
1-1 draw.

Smith pondering whether to "unleash the Bowerman" in a 4-4-2 that has GOALS WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.

9-8 to the 'Lers. Bowerman with five, Grigg with four. Jeff to take the money for the extra hat-trick match ball out of their wages.

I'll be happy with anything from this. Think we'll get a draw if DS decides to play 4 - 4 - 4 :?

Walsall 2 Brentford 2
Holden and Butler to score from headers from set-pieces. Mr Smith has a revelation and realises we need to sign a striker taller than Ronnie Corbett. doh! Too late!
All in front of 3,700 home fans who stated the bleeding obvious in pre-season.

Pleased to see two up front, we're going to need Featherstone to have a good game to compensate for Adam Chambers' absence. No sign of James C in the squad today.

BBC report all over the place, according to them Grigg has had two shots saved by Groff!!!
What really amazes me is that Grigg has had two shots!!!
Also showing Clayton Donaldson having a shot saved by his own goalkeeper!!
They do all know which way the are kicking?
