Obviously we're clutching at straws here rather than listing actual rumours, but I actually think he might be worth a punt. Isn't necessarily Smith's sort of player as I don't think he works particularly hard for the team, but he looked a real threat when he played against us last season.

Great, lets keep up looking for players who HAD potential and never lived up to it... Ryan Jarvis anyone?

I thought about Lionel Ainsworth as his pace will threaten any team at this level. However, he was released by Huddersfield for apparently being a bad character and despite being one of Shrewsbury's best players this season (According to their fans), he randomly was transfer listed and then loaned out towards the end. Graham Turner's a decent manager and has seen his fair share of players come and go. Stinks of a little black man with an attitude to me.

Reading between the lines on this one, could he be our first signing? For those who might not be aware, he's from West Bromwich.

Didn't we have him on trial when he left the Blues and before he joined Luton?

Unfortunately I think Oxford would be payinh him more than we can afford.

Closer to home makes sense but the "Quite a bit more money" bit doesnt

Could be us, but then again it could be any team closer to West Brom than Oxford.

Youth Players

Tue May 15, 2012 10:16 am

just read this on the Birmingham City Forum!!!!!!

I've recently been doing some scouting, a little hobby of mine, just identifying players that Blues could have a look at.

Ben George-Walsall-RB/CDM-14/11/1993-Youth

Jacob Hobbis-Walsall-ST-16/10/1995-This guy looks really impressive-Youth

Liam Maher-Walsall-GK-Unknown-Youth

Will Grigg-Walsall-ST/RW-03/07/1991-First Team

Eamon Zayed-Persepolis-ST-04/10/1983-First Team-i saw him whilst at Derry City

Scott Allan-WBA-CM/CDM-28/11/1991-First Team/Loan

Saido Berahino-WBA-ST/RW/LW-04/08/1993-Youth/Loan

Gael Bigirimana-Coventry-CM-22/10/1993-First Team

Will Buckley-Brighton-RW/LW/ST-21/11/1989-First Team

Yeah, yeah. You should definitely have Will Grigg. He's class! Check out his goal against MK Dons on the last day. I think you'll find that's all the proof you need.

Shall we say £2million?

Can you come and pick him up today?

Asa Hall has signed for Shrewsbury. He wasn't rated by Oxford, so don't think we've missed much there.

Heard Sheff Weds released 6 players maybe have a look at them ? How about Clint

Would like to see us take advantage of loaning Prem players again from our neighbours, Only problem is loan market is late August.

Anyone ever mentioned any Hednesford Town players, Recently heard Burnley took 2 on trial. Really we should be snapping them up before anyone else. Look at Ashley Williams prime example

They can have Liam Maher now as well being as he's been released from Walsall anyway & it wouldn't affect us!

They have release Matieu Baudry and Warren Cummings too.

Cummings was decent-ish wasn't he?

Fair enough - this forum is fairly united in its opinion, which was where I got my info from:
http://www.yellowsforum.proboards.com/i ... 473&page=1
Then again, most people on UTS wrote off Mark Wright as a non-league player, so what do forum experts know, eh?

Cummings is injury prone now and I think he plays predominantly left-back, which (hopefully) won't be a position we need to fill. Baudry would be a terrific acquisition by all accounts; Bournemouth are disappointed but not surprised he's been let go (the management preferred their big money signing Adam Barrett who was not worth the money). Then he went on loan to Dagenham and really impressed in their improved run towards the end of the season.

Andy Williams has left Yeovil to come up to the Midlands to be closer to his family, 17 goals in the league last season. Yes please Dean!

Hi All

This is my first contribution to forum so be gentle.

I notice Luke Summerfield is up for grabs having being released by Cheltenham. He is only 25 and had bags of potential a few years ago and was tipped for great things. He was/is a decisive passer of the ball (something I think we've missed since Richards went to Shrewsbury). Not sure how he ended up at Cheltenham. I reckon he is worth a punt on a 12 month contract.

Besides, his Dad lives next door-but-one to my in-laws. I can confirm he sports a Saddlers sticker on his car window.
