A four horse race JJ? Are Whitti and myself allowed 'B' teams now? :D
You can't mean Manchester and Exile surely? :?

This week was a bit like a soundcheck at a gig, "1-2-1-2..." as that is what everyone got! Too many people top scored with 2 points to name here, but well done. There were no blobs again this week (mainly as pretty much everyone predicted Sheff Utd!) Not really much movement because of this.
3 weeks to go and next Saturday's prediction thread has already been set up and running, courtesy of Saigon.
Looks to be a 4 horse race now, who's your money on?!! :D
Table posted on fresh page in order to bask in it's rejuvenating power!

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
Evening all. Here is the table after week 44. Good scoring in general, with lots of 3 points for people, but top score was 4 points, enjoyed by Exile and Whitti Steve - well done chaps!
With two of the leading 4 top scoring, it has made it even more interesting in the 'Champions League' places heading into the last 2 weeks! Who will win is still anyone's bet!! Good movement in the middle of the table as well, for those 'with nothing to play for'!
Next Saturday's thread will be started in the next couple of days, so get studying the form guides!

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
I stand corrected - Saigon has LOST it.
It's like watching a house of cards collapse in slow motion - to the tune of a Rush song. And speaking of which:

"...pain AND desperation ..."
"...limps across the floor and closes the bedroom door ..."
"...streaked with tears of rage ..."
"...now his mind is dark and dulled by sickness and indecision ..."
Nice!

Absolutely ridiculous Manchester! My mind is like a steel trap of immeasurable strength and confidence.
This is just a temporary setback and normal service will resume very shortly. Won't it?! :? :D

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
After some debate, various posts and due working out, here is an updated table for week 44, so that everyone has been treated the same now!
To avoid any more issues, or head scratching, can I ask people to not leave predicting till the 11th hour and 59th miniute please!
If the games are on a Saturday and the thread is set up on a Tuesday or Wednesday (it has been slightly different for Tuesday night games I realise) that should give plenty of time for getting predictions in before the alloted kick off times. There will be no discussion on this if next season I carry on running it!!

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
Something to ponder.
The leaders are averaging 0.73 points per selection, ie. a 36% success rate.
I pose the question............"In true British fashion, are we way behind Spanish,German and Italian Prediction leagues ?"
And if so.............is it the fault of SKY ?

In answer to those questions, yes and yes!!
The Spanish may have all the flair, the German table is reliable and efficient, and the italian table looks great but hasn't got a great build quality, so actually you can't beat a bit of British!!

We are WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY behind.
I mean - you only have to look at the table; Saigon Saddler is at the top of the table - that should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.

3 points today, which is nice, but still loads to play for!

Good luck to all, especially Stevenage!

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
Updated table for the penultimate week below.
An interesting week of scoring. A couple of blobs and 2 joint winners, with 4 points: derbysaddler and chestersaddler. Well done both!
A few people seem to have dropped out in these last few weeks after doing it all season, which is a shame, and there is a bit of movement as you can see from the table. Saigon is now clear again in first place but still catchable - keep going folks! There is also a bit of sibling rivalry still to sort out! :x
One interesting spot in the table, is that there are no tied scores / places until you get to 16th, which is certainly odd for how the prediction table has generally read this season. Get your predicting heads on people - the thread for the final week will be put up on Tuesday!

Many thanks Steve. Anyone can only ever do their best in any given situation and it could have easily gone any of a number of different ways this weekend. The loose thighed virginal damsel upon whose massive teet I have been suckling one week can quickly turn into the toothless old hag of disaster the next.
After so long doing this, it’s weird that the end is finally in sight. By far the best resolution would be for us to finish equal top and cross the finishing line together. Full credit too for Manchester in reeling us in and having a chance on the last game.
It was Churchill who said - "If this long island story of ours is to end at last, let it end only when each one of us lies choking in his own blood upon the ground".
I don't think it is over - anything can still happen! Good luck to all!

An obscure body in the Escade System, your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet.....eauuuurth.
How peaceful it looks.

Most effective your majesty. Will you destroy this.....eauuuurth?
Later. I like to play with things awhile. Before ANNIHILATION

Re: Prediction League Table 2011/2012
Evening everyone! Well, here it is - the moment you have all been waiting for, ha ha!!!
Below is the FINAL prediction league table for the season 2011-12. It has been a close run thing and it all went down to the final week and some excellent scoring was had by some key players to keep it tight.
As for the week's top score, that was a mighty 5 points (!) held jointly by Whitti Steve, Duke and Morty. Well done you three!
Unfortunately for Steve, 5 points wasn't enough as Saigon scored 4 points, so that means he pipped him by one point! A big well done to our winner: Saigon Saddler! I was going to do his name in pink, at his request, but forgot before saving it all, so sorry about that mate!
Hope you've all enjoyed the prediction season, as well as the FA Cup one, for those who took part in that too.
There are some negotiations taking place over a Euro 2012 prediction league in the summer, but these are at an early stage and discussions centring around the format and how it would all work are still taking place so more details on that as and when they are available!! :D
