...
But had we lost those games we'd be in a right old pickle. 7 points worse off not counting todays draw.. So we'd be 8 points off safety.. and bottom of the league by a good few points.

14th & 21st April fixtures may be our defining two matches of the season..at home to Trampmere & away to Exeter, possibly the ONLY two teams that could take that coverted top place in the relegation zone away from our grasp..still never mind eh! there is always Beeevers to bring on to bolster our attack, and Bowerman to warm the subs bench whilst Grigg and Nicholls contrive to cock up every chance going our way!!! :(

All of them? Really? Are you sure about that? Even Wycombe (9 points from 12 games)? Even Tranmere (0 wins in 11 games)? Even Rochdale (2 wins in 16 games)?

According to the BBC we managed 32 (that's THIRTY TWO) strikes on goal (or, more likely, OFF goal) and end up with 1. :(
What's gooin on?? :?
Actually felt mega relieved to see Lancashire's goal registered on Gillette SS when most other games had already finished!
No doubt an opportunity missed. :(
Need to treat myself to a glass or two of Sancerre, or perhaps, Chateau Neuf du Pape tonight, don'cha know.

That could be a real season defining moment. Losing with barely a whimper to a mid table side playing the whole of the second half with ten men could have undone all the good work from the last few weeks. As it happens, we've now scored a 95th minute equaliser that we really didn't deserve and, despite the drop back in to the bottom four, it does feel like a victory and as a result we'll go into the next two home games on a high (Sheff Utd threw away a 2-0 lead today to lose 3-2 at home to Oldham).

Substitutions were strange though, don't understand why you would bring Nicholls on before Bowerman. Especially when you bring Bowerman on 15 minutes later and move Nicholls out wide, what's the point? And Beevers for Hurst smacked of "I don't know what else to do!"

We've got away with it, more by luck than judgement but if we do end up staying up this will probably go down as one of the key results.

No we didn't.

We had 19 shots (13 of which were on target). If you scroll back through the live text, most of those on target shots were blocked. Their keeper didn't have a lot to do apparently.

I think, technically speaking, the BBC is correct as a blocked shot is a shot on goal that's been, er, blocked. Indeed, 13 attempts on target suggests powder puff finishing if their goalie really didn't have much to do.

We'm skint. So we can put the money we're saving on Jarvis's wages towards signing a striker on loan this week or we can put it towards paying off the year remaining on Smith's contract (simultaneously getting into even more debt) and bringing in a manager who might get us a few extra points with the limited playing resources we so clearly have. Or not, as the case may be.

Is Kevan Broadhurst available? He'd be my choice.

They were the same substitutions as against Preston last week, except I think Bowerman replaced Macken at Deepdale. And again Nicholls was again brought on before Bowerman.

Last week it made sense to bring on Beevers to secure the 0 - 0 draw and the point. Hurst had put a good shift in and as I say it was a logical move (plus Beevers nearly got a winner at the death). I guess the only other option today was Manny up front??

I just hope as Bangs suggests the wages saved on Jarvis's move to Torquay are utilised this week to bring in a loan striker.

A most peculiar game I have to say. Where to start, well Russell Slade, presumably having watched our last few games, had obviously given his team instructions to cripple Cuvelier. In the first half whenever he got the ball he was immediately assaulted by the nearest Orient player. This backfired quite spectacularly when the ref finally had enough and red carded the last in a line of Orient offenders (cue outrage from Slade).

By the time of the sending off we were already one down, to one of the softest goals you're ever likely to see, but still Orient down to 10 men for most of the game, this should be easy eh? What ensued was quite difficult to watch to be honest and several times it crossed my mind to leave the game early, worried as I was about the safety of my car, which was parked in one of the more "interesting" streets of the nations capital.

We huffed and puffed and some of the stuff we were trying to do was laudable. We tried to play the ball to feet, but when push came to shove, the pass was misplaced or the run wasn't made. This was summed up about 5 minutes from time when a cracking cross was put in and not one of our strikers (we had 3 centre forwards on the pitch at this stage) had the forethought to make a run into the box. To be fair, a winger has the ball near the bye line in a bit of space, he looks like he is about to swing his leg and cross the ball, why would you make a run into the box? :?

It's difficult to be too critical though. I think the players failing are in their DNA.

Anyway at the end we got that ridiculously wonderful goal and the previous 94 minutes of torture were instantly forgotten and the unbeaten run continues.

Perhaps the game was summed up by this sign I snapped in the Brisbane Road stand

Oh the ironing!

I was at Preston last week, and it made no sense then either.

Also saw the one we conceded.......... got to say Grof looked hesitant in getting off his line that allowed their bloke to nick it before they scrambled it in. Young lad.........its all about experience, shot stopping ability is only part of goalkeeping the bigger part is decision making - he will learn

Fairly decent tun out, not bad noise at times too.

I enjoyed the equalizer, that'll be all.

Oh and I also thought singing 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' towards the Orient fans to our left highly embarrassing and make sus look very small-time.
