We beat Wellington Town 2-1 in the FA Cup in November 1899 in front of a crowd of 150. A few months earlier we had beaten Arsenal 2-0 in the league. And people moan that fans are fickle nowadays.
150 fans ! surley there is more to the story....
They were all staying away due to the potential ground sale and share arrangement with Waleshal Unitedd. Nothing to do with our league position.

Not great!! Paterson having a mare. Think bowerman will get a good run in 2nd half. Need to stop playing so direct though. Pitch looks poor!

Sounds pretty desperate so far. The BBC London guys are talking a lot of sense. Within 20-25 minutes they were in a position to form an acurate opinion of our players (strengths/ weaknesses etc). Makes you realise how easy we must be to 'watch' prior to games.

Butler now on for Lancashire, 37 minutes gone. Must be an injury thing?

Hamstring for lancashire. Looked a bad one as pulled up with their strikers through on goal! Luckily was awful and Ballsed it up.

Sorry to say I'm glad I stayed at home. Warmer, more entertainment & 20 odd quid extra in me pocket.

Is it me, or is this evening the most most miserable in our recent history? We are being mullered by a team BOTTOM of the Fourth Division. I realise that cup matches are 'levelers' but this is soooo embarrasiing....... :( :( :( :(

Better than I thought to be honest. Before the game I thought this one would have only just cleared 1,000. Fair play to those that are there.

Assuming nothing changes, do we suffer the agony of extra time at 90 minutes or is it straight into the agony of a penalty competition?

Salisbury 1-0 up at Grimsby now.
Oldham are winning at home though, so it's not all upsets...

Nice to hear some decent commentary, better than the rubbish Franks et al at WM produce anyway.
Glad I've given this game a miss, we are a truly awful side, and I'd rather stay in the warm than watch rubbish.

To be fair, Oldham have been playing against 10 men since the 38th minute

Totally agree Phil, I was gewin to Chesterfield on Saturday, but I think I will save my money, we'll get beat, simple as.
We ARE a truly awful side, heading toward the Fourth Division without so much as a whimper of fight.

Here we are with less than half an hour to go, and we're playing a "HALF" game......
Attempts on target - us 1, Daggers 2
Attempts off target - us 3 Daggers 6
Corners - us 2, Daggers 4
And we are supposed to be the home team

Against a team BOTTOM of the Fourth Division after eight consecutive defeats.....appallingly embarrassing.

I stand corrected but I think this is the second worst attendance at the Banks's for a competitive match. The 1,793 for the JPT against Chesterfield last season is the lowest. However, I have a nagging feeling we may have had a crowd of 1,600 or so for a match in the latter competition many years earlier, possibly the early 90's period. Bernie, are you out there?
