You'll never win a penalty competition by missing three out of four.......

Anticlimax.

Can't even find the net when the ball's stationary in front of it with only the keeper to beat. :(

Absolute rubbish. Well done the lads once again  .

Scoring one penalty out of four is simply just not good enough.

Not very good. But frankly I'm rather more troubled by events at Accrington, which tends to put other things in some perspective...

LATEST

A serious injury to Tom Bender forced the abandonment of the Accrington Stanley and Tranmere Rovers cup tie in the Johnstone Paints Trophy.

The Accrington defender was treated on the pitch for 25 minutes before taking from the ground in an ambulance.

He went down after colliding with his Accrington's goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere's Lucas Akin, according to the club's website.

The Welsh youth international is on a season-long loan deal from Colchester.

More from Accrington

Accrington chief executive Rob Heys told BBC Sport: "It was a three-way collision between Tom, Ian Dunbavin and the Tranmere player.

"It's difficult at this time to say what the injury is but our club doctor and physio ran immediatly to his assistance.

"Both sets of players were shaken up by the incident hence why we took the decision to call the game off - it's only natural reaction when you see a player stay down for so long.

"He was starting to show signs of coming around as he left the ground."

Best wait for a match report from someone there. Mick Kearns tends to leave a lot out of the commentary...

Utter and complete disgrace, 3 out of 4 penalties wasted, we are a joke and an embarrassment. The club should refund the gate money for all Saddlers' fans who travelled, and then deduct it from the players' wages! Maybe if they were hit in the pocket, they might start to reflect on their performances and show greater respect for the paying fans who spend so much making the effort to follow the team. Not allowed by FL rules, no doubt, but that's how I feel tonight - angry and EMBARRASSED!

I'm inclined to agree with others though, what went on at Accrington overshadows anything else tonight, football-wise. :?

Just like last season I am getting very frustrated by a succession of players talking on the E&S website about their determination to put things right and then come matchday repeat the same old tat that they do every week.

SHUT UP WITH THE EASY WORDS AND PUT YOUR EFFORTS ONTO THE PITCH!!!

Thought much the same myself. Empty words before every game about how they are going to turn it round, but no result. Suggest you belt up guys, develop a siege mentality, and let the only talking you do be on the pitch.

You forgot to say that we should always take the positives , so calm down chaps , lets have no more of this 'no wins in 7 games' negativity.

It's actually only 1 defeat in 4 games over 90 mins- and that was only down to a penalty that shouldn't have been.

See, it's easy when you try

If we could take penalties 30+ yards out we might have had a chance
