Favourite Xmas Song?
Its that time of year again fellow saddlers when we forgive and forget whats happened over the last 12 months for one special day of the year! heard something on the radio today that White Christmas by Bing Crosby could be banned off all radio stations this xmas because of some minorities saying its racist!
Whats your favourite xmas song of all time?

Of the above, I'd go for Wizard.
My personal favourite though, would have to be Fairytale Of New York
Honourable mentions go to:
Dean Martin's version of "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" (what a superb voice he had!), same goes for Bing Crosby's White Christmas.
Santa Baby! (anyone remember that one?) who sang it? Was it Ms Monroe?
The ONE that I hate:
Mud - Lonely This Christmas -
That song is sooooo depressing!!!

I hate Cliff Richard!!!, xmas is the only time he ever brings a song out!!!
But Im not really bothered about Xmas music, but im sure some record company will re-release another "Ultimate Xmas Album" with all the same Xmas music.
But there is one track I really hate and that's The Darkness Xmas song!!!!!
The Darkness suck so badly!!!!
Would be nice if Slipknot or Limp Bizkit were Xmas No1, that would be ace!!!

Soom fool on Bloxwich Lane has had their Christmas decorations up since early November  Everyday I go into Merry Hell and since last week they've been pumping out Christmas songs from every speaker. I feel like Scrooge mumbling "It's not even December yet, stop playing bloody Christmas songs"

Cus you'll get lots of nice pressies, religious or not. :D
Plus theres nothing wrong with people being nice to each other for one day a year. If we could extend it to rest of the year the world would be a much better place.
And no I'm not religious either.
Go with the flow. You might enjoy it.
Happy Christmas Duvelken

There's not been a decent Christmas song for donkey's years, in other words.
Exactly my choice and sentiments, Exile.

I only came on this thread to vote for the Pogues. And you're right, Stop the Cavalry is a decent 2nd.
Perhaps that's because I'm not a fan of Christmas.
One verse from FiNY is superb, not that there are any weak verses:
You're a bum
You're a punk
You're an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
You scumbag, you maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God it's our last
Can anything else some up Christmas so perfectly?

Pogues for me too-- Saw them at my first university(Keele) in the early 1980s with Billy Bragg, now that was a night :D
I hate Xmas though --over that last 24 years me and my family have taken a packed lunch to a beach in Wales and then we go for a walk. In the early days it was just us now there are millions.
Off To Spain this year, I think its an age thing kids grown up but as yet no grandkids.

What years were you at Keele SJ? I was there during the mid eighties. Did FY and they kicked me out before my final year. Hated Maths by that stage.
