Midland Youth Cup Semi-Final
Walsall 0 1 Grimsby Town
In last week's Reserve Team match report, I commented on the ineptitude (of both teams) in front of goal. Well, I can now report that there is a consistent trait running through the club! The young Saddlers totally dominated one of the most one-sided matches that I have seen and outclassed the Mariners in every department bar one - finishing. The visitors scored with their only on-target attempt of the game - a header, eight minutes from time. I don't think that they could believe their luck when the final whistle sounded.
I hope that the watching Hutchings and O'Connor will link up with Dean Smith to include shooting practice for all of the playing staff.
Youth Team v. Grimsby Town 8/3/10
Reports and reaction from the 2009-10 season as Walsall finished 10th in League 1

Yes, the staff will be rifling through the coaching manuals to find players of the right calibre.

We already know who they are. There's two of them: Smith & Wesson.
