And can i ask where you have got that thought from ?
I read in the Express and Dingle this week about Clayton saying how the older lads need to help the baby's ! And that he is 110% behind the team !!!

Point away isn't bad, it's just a shame the 2 goals we conceded were poor goals

That'll do for me. Well done to Deeney for continuing a rich vein of scoring form, and Williams for his debut goal.
One question, though: when was the last time we had more efforts on goal than our opponents? It must be months.

A decent point IMHO, Victoria Park is never an easy place to go - except when we had Joachim - so this is a bonus point. Even though we allowed them two daft goals, I still think we are turning a corner, and the point will do for me.

A good point, well done to the Team.
Concerned about Clayton, he is def having far too many Grobelar moments just lately, hope by next week hes sorted.
Two well worked goals , and Deeneys confidence must be high.
Lookin foward to next week and 3 points - just got to get past Super Jim.

By the sounds of things, we were 1 horrible mistake away from taking the 3 points. There's not an awful lot you can do about things like that.
What is pleasing to hear is the manner in which we created our 2 goals. Just like Deeney's goal against Leeds, we've created another couple of goals as a result of keeping the ball on the floor and trying to play football to get through teams.
For me, Hutchings and O'Connor have made a massive difference given that this is pretty much the same side Mullen worked with.

Mullen used beer mat tacticts. It was like Mike Bassett England manager the sequal. Hutchings and martin are trying to get us playing decent football again.

They've made very little difference to the overall standard of the football so far.
Today we played a pretty poor team who created only one good chance from a header. We gifted them the two goals with Gerrard inexplicably kicking the ball into his own net in panic when anyone one with half a brain would have dealt with the problem easily. Clayton's goal kick direct to Porter for the second goal was too pathetic for words. Defensively we are still quite shocking.
We created two chances and fortunately scored from both. Deeney's goal was excellently taken and the new kid did well for the second.
Its a long round trip to watch tripe but at least we battled on and got the draw. We'd have lost this match under Mullen and won easily under Money.
Nice to meet some of the lads from the Poolie Bunker in the MillHouse.

Standard of football, or standard of defending?
You were at the game today and I wasn't, so I'll give your observations the credibility they deserve, but from what I heard our goals were well crafted and some decent football allowed us to play the game in the opposition's half, which is something we were completely inept at under Mullen.
The goals in particular sounded like a couple of pretty impressive, well-crafted moves.
All I'm saying is that when you don't have the personnel at your disposal to keep clean sheets, you have to find other ways to get points on the board. Hutchings & O'Connors way of doing that is to allow the players to play with confidence going forward, keeping the ball on the floor. We're miles away from being an impressive outfit just yet, but we've just picked up a point away from home. A point which probably would have been three had 2 of our more consistent performers not made huge errors. I'm convinced we'd have capitulated at Victoria Park today had Mullen still been in charge.
