I'll look forward to reading some reports from those who make it back.
For some in this weather, "they may be some time".
Disappointing to score twice, and take the lead, and come home with nowt. The scoreline alone suggests we put up a fight, which HAS to be better than Saturday.

Some were saying this when Weston wasn't being played. Now he figures in the team.
Next you call for Reich.
Sounds to me like clutching at straws.

Re: Oldham Atheltic (A) League 1 Tuesday 25/11/08.
Jimmy Mullen, tactical genius.
Give Marco Reich (German international, playmaker and all-round footballer) a grand total of 1 minute to change the game.
YOU ARE A JOKE!
Bonser and Mullen you are ruining Walsall and no-one wants you!
GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS! NO ONE WANTED YOU AS MANAGER AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
Ince will go in January; Gerrard will be next; our midfield's average age is 20 and there is no cover or strength in depth.
No strikers on the bench, no goalkeeper, but two left backs (and a right-footer at left back on the field).
I'm glad we lost to Scunny in the FA Cup since living close to Alveston (our FA Cup opponents had we turned up at the Banks's) would have beaten us.
I'd love to say I don't care but I do. However if you bother to read this Bonser, I will not spend any money on your pension fund and my dad (who's been a seaon-ticket holder for over 30 years) won't be there next season.
Well done, Mr. Bonser I hope you're happy. Get a has-been as manager and see what happens... Any decent players we have probably feel the same as me - why should they 'turn up' when there is no leadership, no ambition.
If it wasn't so soddin' predictable you could laugh about it.
I'm stickin' to the GGs; at least there is a possibility of a return on my investment; tell me where the satisfaction is when you see your entire season disintegrate BEFORE December?

We're in a results business and Mullen isn't getting results. An away win might have at least made up for Saturday, but we've picked up no points.
I await reports from those who went.

Re: Oldham Atheltic (A) League 1 Tuesday 25/11/08.
**Taking a little breather from my part-time final yr studies at the Univerisity of Dinglehampton**
I've been keeping an eye on the results and the team's progress this season, but It didn't suprise me that the team lost tonight. After reading the thoughts and opinions of "Uncle Jimmy" Mullen's tenure as The Saddlers gaffer, there seems to be deep disatisfaction with his utilising of the squad i.e. Tonight's match using one of our most effective players in the current squad Marco Reich as a sub with a minute to go to try and grab an equaliser! and the style of football etc.
Yes i'll admit that i'm a stayaway* and i just shook my head in utter disbelief that the team is 11th - 6 points of the relegation zone after blowing 2-1 lead at Oldham. I fear a relegation battle if Mullen doesn't sort out any assemblance of tactics and perhaps a change of footballing approach wouldn't go a miss! I'm not good at predictions i thought at the start of the season we would finish 12th maybe (just maybe) 10th at the end of this current season. But goodness knows and i can't beat what will happen in the upcoming Crimbo fixtures and the next 5 months!
I'll await for any reports from any UTSers who travelled to the North West to if there was any "positives" can be taken from this game.
*I'll be tempted to view and judge for myself the damage that afformentioned used car salesman has done to the squad!

Bringing Reich on as the injury time board goes up shows Muddle for the complete clueless idiot he is. How long are us supporters going to carry on grumbling under our breath about this? We need to act now and act big if anything is going to change. The happy clappers will bleat on about us being in this position or not too bad in comparison to last season blah, blah, blah. Anybody with a modicum of common sense and a basic grasp of reality will know we're only going one way with this prat in charge. The quicker he's gone the less of a mess we'll have to get out of.

Re: Oldham Atheltic (A) League 1 Tuesday 25/11/08.
Didn't go tonight but went last season.
Again what a difference a year makes last season we was well organized and super tight at the back every player knowing his job and won with ease.
Bonser has destroyed that team (one that was supposed to be stonger with a years more expeirence) and push on for promotion this season.
I won't go over old ground about the players we lost but to me the biggest loss was Richard Money.
He was very diplomatic when he left denying any rift with Bonser but I think we all know the reason he jumped ship.
How does Bonser sleep at night.
Forget any ideas of Bonser sacking Mullen. It wont be long before you read and the back page og E&S that us supporters live in "Cloud Cuckoo Land" and we are punching above our weight. Mullen doing a great job ect.
How can you cock up twice Bonser ?. You messed up with Merson which eventually you admited even though it took a relegation for you to admit that.
You somehow manage to recruite a good manager in Richard Money, promotion, then flying the following season and looking good for the playoffs at least or at worse a serious challenge this season.
Then come January you cock up again Bonser and as I said destroy the team with your greed.
Rot in hell Bonser and take your new cock up Mullen with you.

Amen!

I forgot this game was on. I wish it hadn't happened.
Looks like those who went are still trying to get home judging by the lack of reaction!

We should look at the positives. No team will sign Clayton if he is injured!

128 of us (according to the OAFC announcer) in a crowd of 3,900 odd.
Their 1st goal - a wicked deflection that gave Gilmartin no chance. Surreal to go 2 - 1 up in less time than it took me to text the news of our 1st goal to my mates. We never looked comfortable or confident though.
OAFC again played the sort of intricate, passing football that has become their hallmark under Sheridan's management but they didn't have the decisive 'cutting edge' that separates them from the best teams in the division. We had some good opportunities - notably from Ricketts' passes or through balls that weren't anticipated by his less 'gifted' team mates, but we never seemed likely to hang on to our lead.
Their 2nd and 3rd goals were virtually identical - both 3 foot tap-ins by Lee Hughes in the centre of the goal from left-wing crosses. This was bad enough the first time, but they made a point of attracking down our right side throughout the game and I'd have hoped the lesson would have been learned by half - time.
Chris Palmer, who played at left back tonight, put a solid shift in. Gilmartin did well. He couldn't be blamed for the goals and made a couple of good saves. Hughes did well to last the 90 and never gave up.
Overall, a disappointing night, on which we promised to deliver more than expected but ultimately played to form. The potential is obviously there but isn't being fully harnessed. Reich was brought on in the first minute of 4 minutes of injury time - I don't see what purpose that served. Zaboub made a slightly longer, though no more effective, appearance. We still appear too predictable and seem bereft of confidence.
