This is really where we need to start winning at home and making these away wins worthwhile. A win against the Cobblers and Brighton will put is in good stead for the difficult away matches coming up.
Northampton have been doing well lately but we should be ok. 1-0 to the Saddlers.

I hate Northampton with a passion it’s a hell hole of a place and from what I have seen of the team they just like to boot the ball forwards. I really hope that this game is better than the two in the FA Cup and the supper saddlers win. I reckon 4-2 to us.

I agree mate, went there for the first time last week and it is a real dump. I also managed to cut my lip on a packet of strepsils and had to sit in a meeting with a clump of bog roll on my face

Is it not a 3pm kick-off? :D
Hopefully a convinving home win. Have we shed the early season "good away, poor at home" tag yet?

How can 4-0 ever be a thriller? A thriller would be coming from a goal down to win 2-1, or 3-2, but 4-0 would be an absolute walk in the park....

I was hoping the 20/30 chances we have to score and just miss would make it a bit exciting

All four goals in the last two minutes after Northampton miss eight penalties, we have three men sent off and DD gets banished to the stand for incessant waving. That would be a thriller.

I'm sure if you read the instructions on the box, it tells you to pop the tablet out of the packet before you put it in your mouth.
Or did you eat the box first?

Re: Northampton Town Part 4 (H) League 1 Saturday 8/3/08
I predict that we'll beat *insert next teams name here* 2-0
*insert next teams name here* will have the majority of the possession, but the Walsall defence will hold them at arms length, and Clayton will mop up any long range shots.
*insert next teams name here*'s manager and supporters will bemoan the fact that they lost despite 'outplaying' Walsall, and will go on to state that this division must really be crud if the likes of Walsall can tie up a playoff place for the majority of the season.
DD will state that he knew that *insert next teams name here* would be difficult opponents, and that he expects the *insert next, next teams name here* game to be equally difficult.
...repeat to end of season.
Incidentally, a warm welcome to any Hotel Enders that may be lurking.

Having looked at that site, there's definitely a couple of threads that need frapping. Who's up for the challenge?

Re: Northampton Town Part 4 (H) League 1 Saturday 8/3/08
We are sounding a bit too cocky for my liking.
We should win this one but by all accounts Northampton have improved immensely from that awful hoof-it pub team we played 3 times earlier in the season. A scraped, ugly 1-0 will do me but I wouldn't be too surprised if we dropped points.
This time we can have no excuses for a sub-6k crowd either. First home game for a month, we've been winning, and no other local league teams in action.

I agree. It won't be easy at all. I fancy us more in the tough away games because we rise to the challenge. It's in games like these where we're expected to win that we haven't always done so. Northampton are doing well recently and are chasing a play off spot themselves, and Akinfenwa is one of the few players Roper struggles to cope with unfortunately.
No excuses for the sub 6k crowd but I think it's unlikely. Hope its a good one though, everyone needs to start getting down there to support the team to a play off place at least.
