Does no-one trust Roper to come back in? No point having a central defender on the bench if we cannot use him when required.

Has he lost his pre-season hamburger/kebab belly yet, without playing???

If not then I really think it's time for him to sling his hook. As it is, I think he has to play tomorrow. We need to know whether he's up to it one way or another.

Roper is slimmer than ever. Seriously. Even if he wasn't, his problem always has been and always will be match fitness and that's got nothing to do with weight.

The mere thought of a replay makes me want to turn up the heating.

Yes, saw him in the Bonser Suite after the Donny game and I thought he looked very slim. I hope gets back into the side soon. He was excellent in the first half of las season and I would like to see if he can still compete at this level.

I don't have anything against Ropes, but the only way he's getting into the team is if Gerrard and/or Dann get a bad injury or mess up big time. So, much as I like Ropes, I don't wish to see him back in the team soon.
Oh, and 2-0 to us.

Nowt to do with his illness (although that, in itself, might have been a problem, in other circumstances) - no, it's because Joke Shitty will not allow him to become cup-tied - unlike Oldham, who were quite happy for Ricketts to become cup-tied to us.

Yeah, I realized that shortly after I'd written it. Just hoped nobody would pick up on it!!

Roper hasnt stood a chance with the excellent form of Dann and Gerrard! He deserves a chance tommorow! It is his chance, he has to take it and play really well! Give DD more of a headache selection in that postion!

I was waiting for some smart a*** to say that (but thought it would be MMF or PH, so the fact that it was you was a pleasant surprise! ). You KNOW what I mean, Steve. I would expect Ropes (unless he scores a hat-trick and makes two goal-line clearances perhaps) to be back out the starting eleven come the next game.
Jeeez!

Me? A smart a***? I'm shocked that you'd even think that of me, still less write it on here!
I did consider saying that actually, but I'm still waiting for some bites on my "sell Roper" posts...

No mention about it from the commentary but he have been subbed a few times in recent time with a bit of a thigh injury.

Ishmel has been subbed for Sonko with an "apparent" injury. Why not give hall a chance instead of sonko?!
