I can't believe that we've only sold 33 tickets. There must be more people off this board going!! I know it's a long trip from Walsall on a Tuesday night, but it's not a bad trip down for anyone who works in and around London - and there's quite a few of us who do. I'd expect somewhere in low three figures tonight.

It's a week night the ticket prices are stupid and we've got no roof.Got to be honest even if I could have sorted babysitters out I wouldn't pay that ammount to freeze!

My excuse for not being their tonight is the price of a return ticket to Sydney! I reckon we will have the usuall 150+ following tonight!

I probably wouldn't have done either if I still lived up in the Walsall area. I'd have had to take time off work and pay for the extra petrol, but from down here I can leave at the normal time and still get there in plenty of time for kick-off. I'm absolutely not criticizing anyone who's not going - this'll be my first away trip since Swindon so I'm hardly in a position to do that. I'm just questioning the accuracy of the reports of only 33 tickets being sold.

Anyone should know that Walsall fans don't buy tickets until the last minute. They'll either get one today or turn up without one.

Yeah, usually. But not those who are based down south and can't get to Bescot in the next 90 minutes. And since it's an all-ticket game there's not much point turning up without a ticket...

If they turn up without one they are a bit screwed aren;t they? It's all ticket tonight.

For once working in Croydon has paid off! Cost of ticket and travel somes to £31 for me, about £20 cheaper than coming up to Walsall for a home game!

Am hoping for a 2-1 win, but would be happy with a draw.

From London, I know we've got myself, Surrey Saddler, Mersiahs, Leatheropolis, TimWilkes, Plastic Hawk (oooh, new SES member?) and potentially Stu and I'll be amazed if Farncombe Saddler, Worthing Saddler and Hampton Saddler don't go.

So by that reckoning, from the SE alone, there's 9 from UTS. The supporters club are taking one full-ish coach (say 20), so we're up to 30-odd already.

That's without the people who don't use UTS/will be driving/training it.

As I said, I've got ticket 89. Someone I know bought a ticket the next day and got 94, so it looks accurate.

Some are a bit naive. Since when has a match been all ticket stopped people attending? As if they'd turn someone away who's travelled that far.

There will be about 100-150 there.

Yeah, I know - hence the wink at the end of my post! I agree with you on the numbers, but was just amused at Brighton seriously thinking we'd only take 30-odd.

Having spoken to the unhelpful woman at Brighton's ticket office on the phone, I wouldn't like to bet against it.

It's touch and go as to whether I'm going or not.

Hope you do manage to get a ticket one way or the other.

Although, let's face it, it's in a f***ing athletics stadium with no roof, massive gaps between the stands and the game is taking place in the dark. How hard is it going to be to sneak in over the fence when nobody's looking?

(Not that I'd advocate that course of action - and if you try it and get arrested / thrown out then don't blame me!! :D  )

My issue lies with the fact that you an get a student ticket in the home section for £5 but have to pay £16 in our end. My plan had been to but a ticket in their end, go into the ground and make it look like I'd made a perfectly innocent mistake with the consequence of being moved to be with the rest of our fans.

Having been told that their ticket office won't be open after 6pm however, that plan now seems unlikely.

That plan will work regardless of when the ticket office closes.

Tell them you're a student in Brighton, and didn't know that it was all ticket for away fans as you hadn't see the Walsall press.

They won't turn you away.

Interesting subs bench - no Roper but Mannie Smith getting the nod. In fact no oldies at all - apart from Bossu its all youth - Demon, Nicholls, Deeney and Smith.

DD keeps saying how it is more of an easier decision to blood the kids away from home, without the fans getting on their backs. I guess we can expect many youngsters being on the bench away from home this season
