To be fair, and defend Phil against a certain amount of ridicule by the board backslapping contingent, I must point out the following:
Just 11 days ago:
appointment of Mullen
Butler transfer listed
Sonner "leaves"
Win 0-1 away
Win 2-3 away
Win 4-0 home
Previous 11 days:
Lost 0-3 home
ho-hum
I'd say there were a few pivotal moments in that time, none of which involved anyone sticking their head in the sand and saying "things will work out." How one perceives those changes does tend to colour the way one sees things, but there is absolutely no need to denigrate the opinion of any particular Saddlers fan just because they see things slightly differently.
I'll ignore the STM argument till later in the season, when it will (inevitably) become more pertinent.

I agree. Those who denigrate Phil for taking an extreme viewpoint are guilty of the "sin" that they attribute to him. While I would agree that Phil's view is far too simplistic and OTT, there is surely little doubt that Mullen has had an input. Many of us, on here, have stressed the need for an assistant, a "fresh voice", so to speak, for quite some time now. The fact that there has been a dramatic upturn in fortunes, following his appointment, is surely more than a coincidence?
That said, the overwhelming bulk of the credit must go to DD himself, imho. He has shown the insight and resolve to sort out the situation. He has to work within the tight financial restraints of WFC and any manager, who achieves success with us (Nicholl, Graydon, Lee, Money), deserves all the praise that he gets.

Well put exile, and Leamore. I think a little more reasoned debate with people who hold an alternative standpoint to ones own and a little less of the 'mob' culture wouldn't go amiss from time to time on here.
I don't agree with much of what phil writes, but the bloke's simply posting HIS opinions on how HE sees things. Well, if that leaves him open to ridicule then that's a pity. It says much more about those attacking him than it does about him.

I disagree - ridicule is essential - especially if Chezzo Saddler is involved.
Hmm. I agree that you're perhaps right to disagree allowing for the stated example. :!:

Can I agree to disagree, whilst really thinking that I disagree if I agree

I disagree, and I reserve the right to ridicule anyone who, in my opinion:
(a) Deserves it, and (b) Can take it.
Further, I should point out that any flack I do dish out is based on my own opinion, not in particular support of any other poster or group - as I wouldn't want to be part of any clique that would have me as a member.

That makes a nice change - a complimentry rival site rather than the usual "they were lucky" or "we were just crap" type comments

I think it's been written by their local newspaper - which makes it even more amazing!!

Do these cliques actually exist? I'd be interested in joining 7 & 9.
