I though one of the main aims of the game of football was to pass the ball, rather than run with it. That, as a line up, will pass the ball far, far better than last year. Pace is not everything (and can be a red herring - look at Mark Rees - fastest thing on two legs and a sh*** footballer - or Evran Wright)

You are right Neil. That side is capable of passing far.

I completely agree. Hence the element of sarcasm in my post. Pace is a waste of time if you can't utilise it properly.

You actually argued against your own point there

Rees may not have been the greatest footballer in the world, but he was quick, bloody quick. He caused problems to teams, and he also scored a lot of goals from midfield

*edit*

The aim of football is to score more than the opposition, not pass the ball

Which we do well because of our defensive set up. :P

Butler on the bench today. He's been unwell and hasn't recovered enough to start.

He's got a powerful shot has Fox but he's unlikely to score from as far away as the halfway line. :P

Dongs were 1-0 up against Bury but they've conceded a penalty which was scored and now they're 2-1 down at home.
Scorer of both goals....................one Andy Bishop.
And they've now had a player sent off!!

And i just noticed the Wheelbarrow has scored!!

MOTM Wrack.

Seems like even the commentary team are in Summer holiday mode still. Not sure that match was worth getting out of bed for.

I'll be interested too. Seems from Mick & Co that Ince played a stormer, Wrack's first half was the best, Mooney's goal quality, Fox's play poor and Dann & Gerrard both improved as the game went on. It didn't sound great, but not too surprised as this team will take a bit of time to shake down in a competitive situation due to all the changes.
