Sorry Per, but I heard from a reliable source today, that [Post Moderated] picked up a groin strain and isn't likely to play.

Yes - the usual service will be resumed (if I can find out the real names of all the triallists!).

10-0. Mooney, Hall and Sonner all to score a hat trick from crosses from Ishmel and Nicholls and Butler to score one off his arris. Everyone to be posting on Saturday night saying how they are excited by the new signings, that their age doesn't matter, and that we will win the league. ;)

There won't be many first team players in the match vs. Boldmere since the first team is in Lilleshall.

The Walsall XI matches will be made up with Youth, Trialists and reserves.

Is it a bad strain, or just a moderate one ?

I'm moderately concerned that this could affect our start of season.

Youth teamers and a few of the young first years pros from the first team.
Maybe a few trialists too who doesn't get mentioned.

You are allowed to have 11+12 subs in a friendly match and it is only 11+5 subs

I'm going to come own tonight. It might be an opportunity to meet some of the board's finest members as currently I only know Saddler Ken.

I shall be wearing a Chiffon Scarf and a Newspaper under my arm

I shall now embellish I just wanted to be first with the scores!

The youngsters just didn't seem all that bothered to be honest! We went 1-0 down after Boldmere had a corner which came out to one of the Boldmere players on the edge of the box, he hit it really well towards the top corner, Skeldon got both hands on it but it went in.

Second half and the youth team stopped trying to play it in the air and played it into Hanna who rounded the keeper and put it away.

Boldmere then came straight back at us and sloppy defending with no-one closing down players, the ball fell to a Boldmere player on the edge of the box again after Skeldon had done well to block a shot and the "Mikes" player duly dipatched it into the bottom corner just under Skeldon's arm.

I can't exactly remember the 3rd goal but I think it was down to poor defending again.

The stars of the youth team were few and far between but Leon Quarless ran his opposite number ragged until he was moved to centre forward, Netan Sansara was solid and linked well with Quarless. A youngster who was the spitting image of Dobson played really well and captained well, not very vocal though.

The other positive is that against a physical team who tended to play dirty, the lads kept their cool and didn't lash out in anger or give silly fouls away. Not much protection from the ref however.

Not a patch on Leamore's reports but I'm sure there will be one from him soon.
