However, if we can keep it tight for the first hour, then we could nick a win.

Saddlers World didn't work - again. Had to listen to two thick northern idiots make cruddy jokes and commentating as if there was only one team on the pitch. Consistnetly referred to Ince as "the keeper", and, as noted above, made dumb comments on Pead's name.
Pair of tossers ruined for me so I switched off at half-time. I have no idea how we did in the first 45 minutes other than from the txt commentary on the match live console, that's how poor those two muppets were.
Shame we lost, and 1-1 with 2 minutes to go isn't bad at all - looks like 3-1 flattered them.

Superb performance.Defence magnificent first half but I was amazed at the amount of posession we made 2nd half.Great to see attacking football that was played to feet, played out wide and then crossed in instead of lumping it long. 3-1 was totally unjust score line. Well done lads a team (and manager) to be proud of. (unlike Sam"the bung" Allardyce)

Just spoke to Geoff and he was totally proud of the lads tonight and also said the score line was totally unjust.
He also said Mark Wright was MOM, well ya bound to have a good game every 50 or so!

Proud to be a Saddler! Whilst there was no doubting the quality of Boltons passing and movement, Walsall had the better chances IMO. The major difference in the teams was taking the chances. Walsall had 2 or 3 other guilt edge chances.
I am struggling to name a MOTM because everyone of the team played well. Special praise to Ince for a couple of great saves, Wright who really looked confident, Dobson and Keates had better games, and Butler and Same did well. Overall though I think Westwood and Roper were class tonight.
1-3 doesn't tell the true story, a draw would have been fair result over the course of the whole game. I thought Bolton edged first half, but Walsall were the better team in the second. Their goals came against the run of play.
Up the Saddlers - concentrate on the league now!

Just got back from the match. They really did us proud tonight. Bolton showed signs of premiership class but we were always ready to close them down and cut out their options.
With three minutes to go I was convinced we were going to extra time but those two (undeserved) goals really flattered Bolton.
Everyone played out of their skins, but Mark Wright in particular had a superb game, he had the opportunity to run down the flank and that's exactly what he did putting over some great crosses.
All in all, we may have lost the game but we can hold our heads high. I am proud to be a Saddler.

What a performance! Im proud that we more than matched Bolton for 88 minutes and had 4 good chances that on another day would have gone in.
Can we all stop this cr@p about Wrighty aswell? He was outstanding tonight, he ran Ivan Campo ragged. Westwood and Roper deserve praise aswell, they both kept Anelka quiet all night. I could mention all the players except Pead but I'll be here all night.
I cant put it all into words but we didnt deserve to lose 3-1. I cant say the last time I was so pleased with a Walsall performance, if we continue to play like that NO ONE in league 2 will stop us.
Dickie Dosh's Barmy Army.

Mark Wright is a player who looks full of confidence. What I particularly liked tonight was his awareness of those around him and the way he ran at Campo with his head up looking for the pass / cross, not blind head down kick and chase.
Dobbo MOM !! Dont really get that . I would put Wright Sam Butler Westwood and Roper ahead of him (minor quibble)
Scary moment of the night Ishy chasing El Hadj Diouf followed by a little wrestling match.......I could just see a full scale punching and gobbing competition kicking off between those two

I can't remember the last time I walked out of Bescot with a smile after losing a game. The performance was superb and the supporters were the 12th man we need at league games. The main positives were that we didn't have to suffer extra time and penalties, we didn't pick up any silly injuries and no yellow or red cards. Also Bolton didn't outplay us so our confidence should still be high.
All in all not too bad a night.
Proud to be a Saddler.

Very very proud of the performance of every Walsall player tonight.
For a large part of tonight we were the better side - and we played some lovely football.
What a change Dicky Dosh has brought to us - the guy already deserves a statue in Walsall. We look fitter, faster and cleverer than we looked under his predecessor.
A score line that does not do justice to a very good performance by the Saddlers

I can understand why everyone is pleased as punch with the way we played, but I came out of the game absolutely gutted. It's not often you have the chance to beat a Premiership side on your own patch and we so nearly did today. For large parts of the second half there was only one side in it after we had shown them a bit too much respect before half time.
Anelka was fairly quiet, Stelios anonymous and the left side of their defence was as poor as Peterborough's the other night. We didn't allow them to play - stuck to a game plan with one striker dropping deep to help the midfield and some of our play down the flanks was superb.
Just didn't happen for us on the night and with the way the other scores have gone we would have got all the publicity for shock of the round. Never mind, maybe our glory will come in the FA Cup...apart from promotion of course!

was really pleased with the performance, if we play like that every week promotion should be guarenteed, just a couple of quibbles:
1. why are we still not leaving anyone up when the opposition have a corner! it cost us the 2nd bolton goal today. For the free kick just before bolton scored hector sam stayed on the half way line and was marked by Campo and AN Other. but from the resulting corner sam dropped back allowing campo to enter the box and score a goal. surely it is better to decongest the box and keep some of their players in their half!!
2. why is everyone suddenly loving mark wright. i will admit that he is playing far better than he was last season (not hard  ), and has finally learnt how to cross a ball. but today he was playing against a centre back/midfileder playing at left back and not once did he beat him and get to the byline?? he did play well but the way people are talking you would have thought he had beat campo every time he got the ball. Wright still just runs at people and hopes he gets past them, i just wish he could get the confidence to belive in himself a bit more, as every so often he will get some confidence from somewhere and skin a couple of players!! (ps:i dont hate wright, i really want him to do well! he just irritates me by being so inconsistent!)

Totally agree. The only mistake made by DD.

Totally disagree. In a night when everyone did really well Mark Wright was Man of the Match. Why do people pick on him? [/quote]
