Sporting Khalsa - 1/8/06

Tue Aug 01, 2006 10:24 pm

A very young Saddlers team won 5-0, at a stroll. The Walsall side consisted entirely of teenagers, mainly apprentices with two or three first-year professionals. Goalscorers were Smith, Howells, Harris, Jones and Hanna.

End of pre-season friendlies - now the serious business begins!

As Coxy says - probably about 300 there. I was disappointed to see so few regulars there - I mean, where was Exile or Pär or Jeremy, for example? Bloody part-timers!

Still, it was good to have a long chat with sj during the second half (and a brief chat with Brendan Batson in the 1st half).

Sporting Khalsa must really suck.

Our (Semi) reserve team record against there first team is

P2 W2 GF12 GA0

i was there and thought we played really well, but they are semi pros are they not, so we should be beating teams like that 5-0, i thought maybe there were 250 at max there, still a good game so now roll on saturday.

Amateurs, actually, Jeffsmate - so, as you say, we should be beating them.

I noticed that Andrew Bentley made a sub appearance, I went to school with him. A name to look out for in the next few years!!

What are you slating Khalsa for you clown, try looking at the difference in levels first. Amateurs, not paying a bean, training once a week, we should win easily. Idiot.

Just watched the highlights - Cameron Jones' goal was class, otherwise the difference was the relative strengths of the teams.
