I will not build up too big hopes this season... Top 10 with a possible playoff pos. in sight.. Don't think we will achive automatic promotion...

Top Three. Other than MK Dons, I truly cannot see a better squad in the league. We SHOULD be getting promotion this season, anything less is a failure - but at least it looks like the management and board are aware of what constitutes a failure this season, unlike in the past three seasons.

Cue awful season - Money sacked by Christmas, Paul Merson returns and signs 5 players on loan to save us from relegation. There is a last day pitch invasion by people who believe Paul Merson to be the saviour, and the dynasty is built (all the way to the conference).

Sorry but all I can see is the worst team in League 1 last season with a couple of avarage additions. We'll stay up due to there being alot of other poor teams to take points off. Glimmer of hope is with Nicholls if he comes back ok.

Brian Clough said for success you need to have the best goalkeeper centre half and striker at you level
the other positions you can get away with to some measure.
Are we the strongest team in these positions?

at the end of last season, I thought that 23rd was a distinct possibility. Money gives good talk, seems to have battered a few heads together and has made some decent signings but for us to even look at automatic promotion Butler will need to bang away 15 - 20 goals and Ince show that he is a better keeper than I think he is.

If we end up mid-table, dont shout at Money - it would not be a bad result after the chaos caused by the cockerney clown. Give the new manger time and be realistic.

for what its worth - 9th.

One of the best predictions yet, in my opinion. While not completely out of the question, you need to bear in mind there are better teams vying for automatic promotion. Bar our new signings the team finished bottom last season - whether Merson bought them in and mis-managed them or not - they were the worst team in 2006.

I don't see many centre-halves better than the ones we've got. Similarly, if Butler stays fit, I don't see too many better strikers. Ince probably isn't the best goalkeeper at this level, but I think he's more than adequate.
Onto predictions, I told myself not to get carried away this year after predicting us to get automatic promotion in both of the last 2 years. Having said that, I'm going to predict we'll finish 5th.

Easy it wont be thats for sure , But i do expect better performances from the players who where here last season , under a far better and more tacticaly aware, more disciplined manager . Add to that our new signings and hopefully more to come i can't help but feel confident about promotion.

On the cusp of the playoffs, so anywhere between 6th-10th.

There is no reason we should be entertaining thoughts of a top 3 finish, we are a team relegated in the last place of an ordinary league one having to face an entirely new league with opponents playing a different style of football.

Naturally, I'd be delighted to be proved wrong :)

Top two. Based on no evidence whatsoever. Although we do look more organised and hopefully Butler will notch up a few.

Don't be so pessimistic Neil.

Agree with Jorge14, I think we are much stronger this season, retaining a good proportion of players who were easily good enough to stay up last season but for the total mis-management of Merson, and some decent additions.

We have (IMHO) a much stronger squad that's playing a league lower than last season, and I'm feeling confident of a top three finish and automatic promotion.

I think the play-offs are a realistic target.

A few decent signings and a competent manager should hopefully see an improvement on the last few seasons!! :)

I went for 8th-14th... I'm not convinced we're anywhere near Top 3 material and those thinking we are are seeing something that I'm not in this crop.

Ultimately I see us falling just short, and finishing top half.
