Yes - almost all doom and gloom. For every positive about Brexit (and I have only seen one or two that may loosely be classed as positive), there are hundreds about loss of business, loss of investment, economic downturns, pound plummeting, share prices falling, loss of jobs and loss of privileges - suggest you read some business websites.

I look forward to you posting some negative links about Brexit; there are hundreds to choose from.

It's coming. Mark April 2019 in your calendar. You can sit at home with your blue passport looking at all the places you could have afforded to go to to only a couple of years ago, were the UK not sliding into recession, crippled by tariffs and restrictions imposed by automatic WTO deals imposed after Brexit talks go nowhere.

Going nowhere, you say, incredulously? Yes. Since May announced Brexit and sent her petulant letter to the EU, nothing has happened. Her crack team of Brexit negotiators have achieved nothing. No progress whatsoever, as they squabble internally, fiddling their taxes while Britain metaphorically burns.

People will look for UK manufactured alternatives. Our balance of payments deficit has been too large for many years now. Will be nice to see it reduce over the coming years.

Really?

I'm sorry aaaae but both are quite absurd.

I come from a working class background so I know for a fact that working class people go on holiday to Europe and, thanks to Brexit, it will cost them even more now.

UK Manufactured alternatives?

We don't manufacture anything thanks to Mrs Thatcher and the Tories.

Ah - and of course when we buy those German cars that the Germans are so keen to sell us, we'll be in for a right shock!!

Preposterous!

Very much looking forward to visiting the archive of this hilarious thread chaps. If only Teresa May had plundered the rich resources that this thread offers for her expert advice on how to negotiate with Johnny foreigner, I'm amazed at the abilty of posters to be able to not only predict the future but to take themselves so seriously that they are falling over themselves to trump each others doom laden posts with increasingly witless mind numbing senarios. I particularily enjoy the use of asking somebody, probably whilst on holiday, who might live in some random country to back up their opinion, the internet equivalent of 'the man down the pub' syndrome.

Very funny, keep up the good work :D  PERIOD

How is anything I’ve said a prediction? The negotiations and delayed action is a fact, as is the information regarding the Siemens “expansion”. Hilarious that anything negative is passed off as guess work when it comes to brexit, when in fact there’s plenty to be going along with if you actually read up on it. It really is well documented at this point.

This is absolute nonsense on stilts! I have spoken to a number of people in several different countries, including Bosnia, where a supermarket attendant suggested that Brexit: 'might turn out to be a bad idea'. I also spoke to a man on a bicycle in Poland or Latvia this year or last year and he said it was 'crap'. I think he meant Brexit. Also some Spanish, German and Indonesian people. And an Arab. The list is endless.

I will have been to Bulgaria three times this year, France and Serbia twice, and 14 other countries, including Britain, many of them for the first time, so I think I know what I'm talking about.

Good question: I walk around with a large gold badge pinned to my chest: 'Ask me about Brexit' it reads. There have been an almost endless number of participants, something between numerous and loads, but most of the research has been done by examining their eye contact and reading how they look. Most look a bit scared or bored. This means - Remain! If they look angry or sad that could mean - Remain! or Don't Know! If they look furtive, awkward or vacant, this means Don't Know! I have to tell you, it's pretty one-sided at the moment. People generally think it's a bad idea.

It's no laughing matter though really, is it Cully?

Perhaps if you took this more seriously you would see the potential issues.

Even you must be flabbergasted at the way your beloved Bluenoses are split down the middle over Brexit, the way they are completely messing up the negotiations and the farcical soap opera being played out in the news media thanks to Boris Johnson.

If you want to make fun of anything - you have enough material to last a lifetime with them!!

Don't blame me for trying to be a little light hearted, you'll be telling me next that you're often mistaken down the pub for being a German...........blonde hair, beer drinker, lederhosen err.... and one of those funny hats with a feather fixed at a jaunty angle.
Anyway, the thread title is Boring, there is no reason why you should continue to reinforce posters opinions of your posts.

Only joking?

Is that inflation adjusted? If not, then it rather reinforces Manc's point. Do check your sources before cut/pasting.

Yes, the uk is a manufacturer, but where are the markets? If they're EU, write it off and start again.

While the Brexit-induced fall in the value of the pound has helped to boost Britain’s competitiveness, it has also pushed up import costs.

While the CBI survey suggests manufacturing output will help to offset a slowdown in Britain’s dominant services sector this year, economic growth is still expected to slow as higher inflation squeezes household incomes.

S&P stripped Britain of its top AAA rating with a two-notch downgrade in the wake of the Brexit vote last June.

so, all you remoaners......................shall we perhaps vote in Labour (  ) so they can reverse the will of the people of the UK and plonk us back in the EU. Then the Brussels Eurocrats can breath a sigh of relief that their cash cow is 'back on board?. Why is it that they are so vehement about a large divorce bill? Because they know that without our financial input they will struggle. Germany, which is now the most powerful Country in Europe (strange that, I thought they lost a world war some years ago so that they would never become as strong again) is now as bad as the UK, currently not being able to form a sustainable government, consequently, their influence may not be as strong as the other 26 Countries might hope or imagine. Where will the money for their ivory towers come from after 2019? (subject to us still having a government rather than a clown convention at the helm).

Tirade from the reds to follow after the ads......................

Where will the money for their ivory towers come from after 2019? (subject to us still having a government rather than a clown convention at the helm).

No tirade, I just don't think it warrants a response. There's so much wrong there it's difficult to start.

I'll have a go at deciphering this :D

<sigh again>

This is not a left versus right thing (he says for at least the third time).

The Conservatives are split right down the middle on Brexit - as is the country.

Half the people want to Remain in the EU. More than half of the House of Commons want to remain in the EU.

It makes no sense whatsoever to leave. In fact, your thoughts on what this means, if this post is anything to go by, make no sense either. If you are unsure what I mean - why mention the war? Why mention the Germans at all? And if you are going to mention the Germans, why not also mention that our "beloved" Royal family hail from Germany originally?

I think this proves that some Brexiteers are living in the past and not looking to the future. It seems that the world outside the UK is irrelevant to them. Or perhaps, because we don't have an empire anymore we should stand up against an enemy that doesn't exist because, in their eyes, they aren't looking for a prosperous future at all - in their eyes they are trying to ROB us.

Except, none of that is true is it?

Such thoughts come from a closed mind. The only picture is the here and now and our glorious days in the past.

Now, because we are leaving the EU, we will have no influence on the future of the EU. We are the laughing stock of most if not all western nations. We have shot ourselves in the foot.

We all like an underdog, as Brits, don't we? So now we have turned ourselves into Europe's biggest underdog. And we are so proud.

I'd like to think that your post is tongue in cheek, AM - that you are trying to be as "witty" as Cully. But you're not are you? You truly believe the words you have written.

I'm struggling not to go in with all guns blazing. In the interests of harmony - and not wanting to turn into Cully (or worse - Sound Out) - I shall resist.

Actually what genuinely made me laugh was this: "subject to us still having a government rather than a clown convention at the helm"

You do realise that the Tory party consists of Theresa May, Michael Gove, Jeremy Hunt (with a silent C), Jacob Rhys-Mogg, Iain Duncan Smith and perhaps the biggest clown of all Boris Johnson?

I don't like any politicians but even you can't be serious about that.

Now then - can we get back on track and have some sensible thoughts from "the will of the people" who voted for Brexit please?

I'm still waiting for the positives of leaving the EU - and I haven't read anything at all yet from a single Brexiteer on this or any other thread.

Surely there must be at least one!

Does this mean after March 2019 we are not part of Europe anymore ?
And a more serious question, where does this leave us regarding the Eurovision Song Contest ?
