Looking forward to going but not really sure what to expect. Head says 0-2 but heart says 1.0 with winner being an own goal.

If should a miracle were to happen, it would most certainly be an own goal! Our two explosively free scoring numpties up front are certainly not up to the task!

I'll be there, having flown back specifically for the opening game of the season, thus guaranteeing a stale borefest with a late Shakers goal.

The game has just become a total lottery as Mark Heywood has been appointed referee.
Anyone could win this depending on this idiot in the middle.

Can't make it unfortunately but I do fear the worst despite trying to remain ever optimistic...
I'll hope for Welsh to be correct at 1-1 but I think 2-0 will see us return down the M6 with nowt..

Saigon's here. I'm waiting in Crewe.
The season starts here...
5-0 to Bury.
(I've obviously been reading this site too much.)

Just lookin forward to tommora whatever the result, it's a no lose situation really, if JW cocks up and we lose the first 4-5 games then he goes and we get someone else in. And if we do well in the first 4-5 games then happy days and up the saddlers

How many games did Hutchings lose in 10/11 before he got potted?
I think the worry is it's a slow death season and the board continue cost cutting by giving Whitney yet another game to turn things around before they get to February and think "ah we might aswell sack him" and then give the job to John Ward or another internal appointment.
Plymouth's finances are in a better state this time so don't think they'll be a team in administration this time.

Wasn't OG our top scorer for a while one season? Can but hope for such charitable defences this season.

Yep... and we got promoted that season, to boot!
Won 1-0 at Gillingham, courtesy of an OG, and took the lead a fortnight later at Wycombe with another one (with a 0-0 draw in between). Took Andy Rammell until about mid-September to take over the mantle!

Bury 0 - 2 Walsall as the saddlers unveil their new brand of total football, a combination of German passing efficiency liberally sprinkled with South American flair technique. Bury will be the first of many sides to come undone by this new growing brand of shock football.
Goals for Ozzy and Edwards.

Whatever are you on mate? Can I have some? Would love to belong to the optimist brigade, but I have been a Walsall supporter for far too long for that ever to be the case!

Im on holiday and i've been drinking so anything is currently possible in my reality.
Plus Lee Clark looks like the love child from Steve Bruce, and this will distract him mentally during the game whilst Whitney weaves his tactical game management.

I fear the worst for today and for the season as a whole, and the worst thing is that it's all self-inflicted due to blatant under-funding, p-poor squad building and p-poor man management. Bring back Dean Smith, all is forgiven.

M6 North, 2hr delay between J18 and J19 for Sandbach and Knutsford for anyone travelling up, got off at J13 and going along the back roads through Stafford and Stoke.

Or Junction 14 and follow the A34 North. Goes straight into Stockport.

Regarding the bench, to say we are relying on youth is an understatement. No disrespect to any of these young players, but the fact that Bakayoko is by far our most experience substituted is a shock  .

Just see the first "Where's Fryatt?" reaction elsewhere online. How do some people cope with the complexities of life?!

Re: Bury (A) League One, 5th August 3pm
this is the first time ive missed the first match of season for over a dozen years
I just didn't want to go ( was stuck on m5 8 hrs yesterday)
looking at the 2 teams there is a world apart in personell and that's just bury.
hope I'm wrong but cant see anything but a defeat today as no firepower upfront
I'm willing to eat my words should Jackson get a hatrick but id settle for a shot on target from him
