Thanks guys - Carolina Saddler - thanks for the heads up but family commitments mean I wont be able to get into the city - but I have my PC and if I have to escape into the cupboard under the stairs I will.
Its a massive few days coming up - and hopefully by the end of May we'll all be bonkers happy and planning our trips to the local derbies - hate to mention it or put the mockers on it - but Walsall have never lost in a playoff final!!! ooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Should be a very close game, feel Walsall need to play an attacking style. If they sit back Barnsley will make them pay. A draw or 1 goal loss will mean all to play for in the second leg.

Pretty please?
Bein Sports (used to be called Satanta) in Australia are showing it live on their website/app.
It's $19.99 for one month. No contract.
Maybe you could use an app to change your IP address or summat.
I'm sure it can be done pretty easily.

Or watch on Nowtv.com - stream through PS4 or watch online. Get a day sky sports pass for £6, or a week for £10.

Not clutching at anything, sorry. Or worried - after where we were in December, you soon stop worrying about how you'd get on in the playoffs!! I saw that game, wasn't overly impressed, that's all.....nothing more sinister - you could pick many of our games this season and draw the same conclusion about us. It's only an opinion - not fact!! You'll see that I finished that post with a predicted 3-0 win for your boys, which is a scoreline that wouldn't surprise me one iota.

We have had plenty of bad games, where we just haven't turned up at all. Especially in front of bigger crowds if you want some hope. I don't know which whey it could go. We are more than capable of turning up and making the second leg a formality, but at the same time we are capable of the reverse, somewhere in between that will do me, get it back to Walsall for a fine night on Thursday

Re: Barnsley (A) Play-off Semi 1st leg, Sat 14th May 5.30pm
We've not been great at home for some weeks now - dropping points against Southend, Scunny & Chesterfield and only scraping to narrow wins v Oldham & Posh - pressure seemed to be getting to the fans, and on from there to the players. Away from home a different kettle of fish - dunno what it is, shackles off maybe. Consensus on our forums seems to be that even a narrow defeat today would give us a decent chance of winning it at your place, but I'm not so sure. Cup football now. We want to make Wembley again, obviously, but having been propping up the table just five months ago, any Barnsley fan would have to be very proud of the position we're in - trophy in the bag and a playoff place! Astonishing stuff. I only ask of them what I always do, that they give it a right good go and give us a cracking game this evening.

Not sure why your talking as if your the under dogs tonight? Let's be honest here over the season you've had a bigger playing budget , bigger attendances and you've certainly used the loan market to your advantage when compared to Walsall.
I am not buying into this bottom of the league 5 months ago rubbish, I make you favourites over the two legs. But for me that's when Walsall are at their most dangerous our players love a challenge.

It's not rubbish. We were bottom of the league five months ago. In that position, and with the run we'd been on to get there, your perspective changes somewhat! The subsequent form, and the JPT win, has addressed that to an extent, but any sane fan is still pinching themselves that we're actually here....in the playoffs, ffs! Didn't say we were the underdogs - just trying to temper any glib enthusiasm with a touch of reality; seen them blow up too many times over many, many years to go into tonight overly-confident. And our recent home form is a little suspect! On paper, I see two pretty evenly-matched sides, who like to play the game properly - all bodes well for a decent game tonight.

Barnsley have had a superb second half of the season and deserve their place in the play offs. One of the best teams I've seen at the Banks's this season. Clinical and well organised. Completely different to when we played them at Oakwell.
Mazza01 you can't take away from the fact they were in the bottom 4 and had a superb run in bothe the league and the JPT. If it were Walsall you'd have a different attitude on it. Sometimes you just have to give a team credit regardless of their attendances, budget etc.
Cannot wait for the game tonight!

Around 2400 tickets sold in the end apparently. Barnsley keep releasing more blocks for their fans, but pretty much sold out what they are allowed to sell. Going to be a cracking atmosphere.

We had the initial 2k allocation, then were given a further 2k.
I dont think 2.5k is that bad all things considered

Agreed, SuperDon, we were never going to sell 4,000 for this one. If you look back historically to other Play Off matches we have been involved in at this level, our followings were approximately as follow:
1987/88
Notts County (First Leg, SF) 2,500
Bristol City (First Leg, Final) 2,500-3,000
2000/01
Stoke City (First Leg, SF) 3,000-3,500
If we do have around 2,500 there today, it compares fairly consistently with the past. Factor in average 'home' attendances of 4,600 or so, it's pretty good really. I only wish I was there today, but will up for the second leg on Thursday.
Come on me babbies :)

Good luck to the boys tonight, I'm sure the fans will be right behind them.
I'll be tuning in from Ennis in Ireland tonight - hopefully our quality shines through but if not I'd take a rub of the green.
2-1 Walsalll, Sawyers to play out of his skin.
