brings a new meaning to the word LOYAL SUPPORTER. i have been going for about 45 years. and missed a few kick off's. stoke, port vile and accrington stanley come to mind (bloody motorway :x ) and i have left early. i remember being 3-0 down i think? to someone at home a few years back.and i got up to leave. and dean holden was warming up on the sideline. the look he gave me as i was leaving would have outdone medusa  and i think we got a draw :lol:saddla wrote:tinned wrote:Darth Vader wrote:If I went to just watch Walsall I'd have packed up ages ago
I can't believe people actually do only go for the football. I always presumed they were joking
52 years of pain is not joking
I even join in the singing occasionally.
But I do get pissed off when someone jumps up in front of me when we are just about to score.
And most of the blokes who people on here were trying to take the piss out of in the pictures from Barnsley actually go to the games for the football 'cause I know a lot of them. And I rate them as real supporters.
In those 52 years I've never missed a kick off or left before the end of any game I've attended.
Sad aren't I. But don't ever question my loyalty to the club I love.

Wow.
If we win this, only 19 more points to stay up. The last time I remember feeling like this was in Sir Ray's first season. I want to believe!

As things stand, we're 17 points clear of the relegation zone, and not only that, we're 4 points clear of the play-offs!!!
Peterborough 2 Doncaster Rovers 0 now...
Elokobi booked for a bad foul on Tom Bradshaw

0-2 at half-time......... No substitutions necessary at this stage !!! :D
Here's a thought - there have been quite a few years where we've had recourse to the "Relegation Calculator" (you remember, where you forecast the results of games to come, to see how much in the mire it leaves Walsall) .... I think we may see its use again this season, but as a "Promotion Calculator" (or even a "Champions Calculator"!!!)

Calm down Welsh, you'll do yourself a mischief! :D :D
Can't believe our away form, it's stonking. Just wish our home hoodoo could be shelved!
Even when Gillingham equalise in the 94th minute, we will still be top o'the League on goal difference!
Does anyone know of any Sunday paper that shows the Leagues with home & away form?

Re: Colchester United (A) League One, 24th October 3pm
Comes as no surprise, anybody who has been following things on social media/betting apps will have seen that they missed 3 great chances and created lots in the first half. Our second goal was a huge deflection and very, very against the run of play. They have been very gung ho and they will get 3 or 4, so we will need to score again at least once not to come away with a defeat. Let's see if we can hang on for a point.
They've had 17 shots and 6 corners and have been scoring/conceding for fun recently.

JonnyOwen wrote:I would put my house (if I had one) on us playing 4141 - they have an excellent and very fast strike force. Massey (who might be injured) is one of the better wigner's in the league, Harriot who is a cut above and is also very quick and Sordell who is a good and fast striker. They then get fed by some very good midfielders in Moncur and Garvan who are among the better midfielders in the league. Their problems are that they are shocking defensively. They have a goalkeeper out for the season and two stinkers in Jones and Parish. At centre half they have two slow donkeys in Eastman and Elokobi as well as a poor 3rd choice full back in Olufemi. Their LB Briggs is a lot like Mal Benning in that he can't defend for shite but is very good going forwards.
So because of all this, we play play the more solid 4 with Rico to keep up with their wingers, and Milan and hopefully Morris to exploit them defensively. Going to be a tough game but if we keep them out we will score eventually as they are very defensively frail. Hopefully O'Connor is back even though Preston was excellent yesterday, could do with a wiser head to deal with the pace of Colchester. Also because of their donkeys at centre half, they will thus be very good from corners and O'Connor is excellent at organising us from set pieces.
I'll be there of course, and I will go with 2-1 Walsall, Bradshaw and Evans for us and Harriot for them.
You might not have got the score, but still pretty prescient.

Evans puts us back ahead, plenty of goals to come either way.
