Gillingham Away
The long trip dahn to Kent might not be so appealing after Tuesday night's debacle, so I expect it will be only the usual suspects plus a few southern Saddlers enduring what could be a miserable afternoon.
Gillingham have won 3 and drawn 1 of their four home league games. Only a last minute own goal against Swindon prevented that from being 4 from 4. Overall, they have managed 11 points from their first 8 games - a decent haul considering they have played some of the more fancied sides in the league.
We, on the other hand are like the proverbial Curate's egg, albeit far more cack than good, particularly when tou look at the table and see all the teams we have played(and failed to beat) hanging around the lower reaches of the league.
Last six visits have seen us win 2, lose 2 and draw 2, so some encouragement there.
3-1 defeat in front of 4812 including 148 Saddlers.

And certain fans saying "don't blame Smith, blame the players", ignoring the uncomfortable fact that they are all the players he put together in his "best ever squad".

Nah, it will be just another 'one of those days/nights' apparently, must be the position of the moon or something.

Re: Gillingham Away
12 nil loss because Deano is the worst manager ever to grace our luxurious plastic dugout and we have no chance with a team of untalented crabs and midgets.
In all seriousness, 2-2, Bradshaw and Sawyers with ours. McDonald and Kedwell (pen) theirs.
Just realised this will be the first game since pre season last season that I have missed, holy cack, not sure I am ever going to do that again until I am retired in 40+ years time.

Re: Gillingham Away
Will be my first ever visit and after watching that 90 minutes on Tuesday night ( & Scunthorpe game) I do not feel optimistic, however I shall let my heart rule my head and go for a stunning turnaround in form and a 3-2 win.

Arm gooing.
Horrible place, nearly froze my nads off a few seasons ago.
Manset to revel in his new No 10 "in the hole" position, like Westcarr on steroids.

If we dont have Chambers again we should go 4 5 1 and pack the midfield out.

You were obviously not there on Tuesday then? If you were, expect the men in white coats to be round your gaff as soon as the papers are signed! :D
We would ALL like to witness a miracle, but sadly this is real life and I stand more chance of winning the lottery, than our current team have to produce a result like that, if Gillingham didn't turn up we would still lose 1-0 to an own goal. :?

Can't call this after tuesdays horror show. A point at best I reckon. Would anyone take out Downing for Holden? Or Kinsella with O'Connor back in the middle.

Sawyers, Clifford, Flanagan, Baxendale, Forde.
Or anyone else that can walk.

Hold your hand up higher enough in the crowd and you might even get on.

Re: Gillingham Away
We can't be as bad as we were on Tuesday surely?
I would give Downing a break, stick O'Connor in the middle and put Kinsella on the right.
Going for an undeserved 2 - 1 win. Sawyers and Clifford (one of his shots will trouble a goalie eventually - law of averages!)

Sounds like 3 ex-Walsall players on the pitch before the game...

Hmmm, would have started Clifford over Flanagan and Kinsella over O'Connor.

I know we've got a few injuries but my god thats an uninspiring forward line if ever I've seen one - Forde, Sawyers, Baxendale, Grimes

Elsewhere (from Florida) MK Dongs go 2-1 up at home to Crewe (W. Grigg), and Febian Brandy makes Crewe's bench...

0-0 at half time. See if they can keep it up in the second half.
