Lets hope Ropes is fit and Ant has a blinder then maybe we can scrape a 0-0 and bring them back to fortress Bescot. If we can't score away when Leitao, Fryatt and Constable are playing then goodness knows what we'll be like without them.
Our old friend Mr Lee Mason is the ref (Previous encounter: Walsall 1 Coventry 6, lest we forget).

I wouldn't be getting optimistic or anything daft like that but at least one Barnsley fan on their (terribly messy but heavily used) message board doesn't think much of their home form.

Some folk are never satisfied though are they?

i have the same feeling.
Also the players feel that the pressure in on Merson, so it depends also on what the players want. If they want him to leave too and can't think they'll be motivated saturday. If they rather want him to stay we could have a rare away result.

my head says we will lose heavily, but for some reason my guts were suggesting a narrow saddlers win!!!
thats a 'were' rather than 'are', as ive found that ex saddler matt carbon is playing for then, described as 'the rock in their defence'. well thats at least 1-0 to them then as our ex-players always seem to score past us.
owell there is hope, he might not be fit

Our only hope is a solid defence and catch them on the break, unless someone new comes in today I wouldn't be surprised if Nichols and new boy James play up front,Just to see if we can upset them with pace, especially if Ishmel is out wide too.
Will someone wake him up this time?

Ishmel shouldn't be considered for the first team for the rest of the month. He can see whether he prefers playing against 15/16/17 year olds on a Saturday morning, or playing in the real games on a Saturday afternoon. It is entirely up to him whether he wants to go the way of Leroy Williams or to a lesser extent, the same way as Kris Taylor - or turn himself into a solid professional. I have no sympathy either way, he made his bed so he has got to lie in it. (Pun intended...)
I think we'll sneak a draw. 1-1.
The new boys might give us some new drive, and might book up the ideas of the other players. If our defence can hold solid, and providing that Oakes doesn't lapse, then a draw is more than reasonable.
I can't see us winning, but hope springs eternal...
Also, it should probably be noted that there is no way Merson will go after Saturday's game, whatever the result or performance because it is a Cup Game, and defeats in Cup Games can always be spun towards the effect of 'concentrating on the league'.
