Another good result and a pleasing performance by the sounds.
Positives:
A point at the league leaders
A clean sheet
Negatives:
Further evidence that we'd be way higher in the league table if we had an experienced striker

Again the lack of slow boat Chambers meant we had an energetic midfield not afraid to get forward, especially first half when we should have been out of sight
Encouraged, Brandy did a lot of running until he ran out of steam and Hemmings is looking more like a footballer again.
Like this Keeper kid... Big and more commanding.

Re: Tranmere (a) - 20//11/12 - League 1
Good team peformance and as others have said, we probably should've come away with three points. The main difference I saw tonight compared to the Scunny and Swindon games, was the way we played. We went back to our passing style which worked but at the same time we were a lot more direct. The difference from a few games ago was that the majority of longs balls were aimed at Grigg's chest rather than miles above his head. This meant he could actually bring the ball down and bring others into play. He created a couple of chances by bringing it down, knocking it off and turning the defender to latch onto a through ball.
Grigg was fantastic until Brandy went off. I think when Brandy went off we were all but done as an attacking threat. Bowerman did next to nothing and was isolated very quickly.
Main positives:
- Grigg's performance, my MOTM. Even got a chant of "internation superstar" for his efforts
- Brandy looked lively and a constant threat. Linked up well with Grigg
- McCarey actually looks like a keeper! Confident, communicates well and dealt with anything he had to do rather well.
- Downing, slotted in nicely and looks composed on the ball. I'd keep the Holden/Downing partnership vs Hartlepool.
- As others have said, with no A.Chambers, the midfield looked a lot better.
Negatives:
- Grigg's finishing.

Joking aside, I'm very pleased that we came away from our most difficult fixture (on paper) with a draw and more importantly a clean sheet.
However, we need to follow this up on Saturday now against a team whole are miles adrift at the bottom that we traditionally tonk.
We haven't won a game for weeks and we'll never get a better chance.

Great point by the lads, sounds like we should have won it. I think 10 points from the next 6 games is a realistic aim:
H - Pools (W)
A - Coventry (L)
H -Yeovil (D)
H - Colchester (W)
A - MK Dons (L)
A - Leyton Orient (W)
Put us on 31 points with 21 games left in need of 19 points perhaps maybe 22 to be sure! If we can achieve that early and push up the table that of course would be much better.

You can knock at least one point off that prediction - when do we ever go three home games without a defeat?!

I was thinking this as I wrote it. Perhaps more realistically it should be:
WDLDLW 8 points from 6 games....Or maybe just DDDDLD

Just watched the video on sky sports... makes it out that Tranmere were denied by us, and shows just about every one of their chances i remember, and none of ours from the first half when we battered them!

Just watched it too and would agree, a totally biaised highlights toward Tranmere, just because they are league leaders. Maybe should be no surprise then.
