Half-time, and it's 0-1 to Swindon. In the first 45 minutes we've had ONE shot on goal, from Sam Mantom naturally.
I struggle to see how it can get any worse......

Need to bomb Baxendale, has been awful. All the midfield needs to turn back to goal when try receive the ball. No idea why! Smith needs to change it to 2 upfront 2nd half if he wants to win this game. Grof has no confidence. Benign bright but needs to release earlier and needs a bit more support from Butlet. Taundry needs to take himself off as offers nothing other than wasteful long balls but not being helped by Baxendale. Fingers crossed for 2nd half.

54 minutes, Baxendale off, and Brandy on as sub.

Time to reach for the cheque book Mr B, we need at least 11 new players.
Notice how i am not just blaming one of them, its the whole team that are just not good enough.
I picked a good day to be a stayaway :(

Lincoln 2-0 up now too - 7 games unbeaten for them now.
We are in dire straits I fear...
I'm still baffled as to why a player scores a hat-trick on Wednesday for the reserves and then gets dropped from the first-team squad for the Saturday.
Matt Ritchie is probably worth £2million, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference anyway, but 1-0 down after a minute and a lack of chances / shots / goals doesn't bode well.

A manager that is still 'learning' and seems to learning at a pissed snails pace, combined with a disinterested fudge owner offering an insult of a playing budget equals where we are.

Only 3 points away from relegation place now, with Scunners taking the lead at Coventry.....

12 minutes to go - Hemmings on for Paterson. Time to show us what you're made of Ashley (but don't step in it...)
7 minutes to go, Bowerman on for Featherstone. Far too little, far too late...

It's so disappointing down at the Banks' at the moment that the bbc can't even be bothered to say how pith poor the attendance is today. :?

Losing at home and still only 1 upfront until the last 10 mins. Smith is a tactical buffoon who is guiding us to League 2 football, nice lengthy contract though and atleast someones happy.

Positives:
Grof made a few great saves.
Benning is Class.
Negatives:
We're cack.
Brandy won more headers for us than our Centre-backs combined.

Re: Swindon Town (H) League 1 Saturday 10/11/12.
For years we have dreamed about having a good start to a season, finishing up as relegation fodder spoiled that somewhat!
It's such a miserable life as a Saddler, I just despair of us ever having ANY success at all, until we are liquidated and end up with Bradford Park Avenue in some grunge league or other.
Looking forward to making a few bob after Tuesday nights humiliation, might as well make 'something' out of this utter deabacle, that is Walsall F.C. :( .

If we played in white shirts with a red sash we could be River Plate.

Re: Swindon Town (H) League 1 Saturday 10/11/12.
That was so bad today. We were rubbish in all areas of the pitch. The defence was like the Red Sea, we were outplayed in midfield even though we were supposed to have had an extra man and Grigg was alone upfront. I struggled to see what the gameplan was: we didn't try to pass it around much, we invariably passed it backwards and then either Grof or one of the centre-halves hoofed it long. I don't mind us playing the long ball but let's get a big guy on loan if we are going to use those tactics. I couldn't believe Smith's subs: Baxendale should have been subbed at half-time as he was so lightweight it was untrue, but Bowerman should have come on. I couldn't believe he brought on Brandy - give me Alex Nicholls any time over him. Nobody had a good game apart from Benning and possibly Grigg. We look like a non-league side and we will be very lucky to beat Lincoln. My side for that game would be (assuming that Flo, Purkiss and Taylor are unfit)
Grof - Taundry, Butler, Holden, Benning - Paterson, Featherstone, Chambers, Hemmings- Grigg, Bowerman
Let's hope we can sneak a win and get some confidence.

Dire. The Ginger Moriniho was happy with 2-0 clearly, otherwise you'd have expected a normal manager to possibly put on the top scorer a wee bit earlier having gone 2 down?
Benning and Featherstone (of course the great one subbed the most effective of the 3 central midfielders) were the only slight positives. Our defence is as bad as I've seen it at this level. Taundrey is a crap conference player, Holden a mediocre div 4 centre back, Butler the only one actually capable of performing at this level + a promising kid. As for the excuse for a keeper, I never want to see him start another game. The defence, as rubbish as they are, get no help from him and obviously have no faith in him. Even wacka's fat arse would be more use - at least he would actually give some assistance to the players in front of him.
Bottom but one by xmas.

What did he actually do wrong today? Arguable our 2nd best player on the pitch pulling off 2 or 3 fine saves to 'keep us in it'. Yes his confidence is completely shot and thats Smiths fault for bringing Darlow in when we did not need him and secondly if the defence and more notably Featherstone stopped passing the ball back to him on his left peg (hence why he went charging up the field to have ago at NF and AB) he would do better with his clearances. Grof is completely blameless today its the 9 in front of him and the twerp on the sideline that need to look at themselves

Same old shite yet again, I ain't going to resign though.
It was a right turnout from Swindon, they come for a fight half of them as well, was about 30 of their lot outside the Saddlers Club, you'd have thought we were Oxford.
