Our thoughts are with you Julian.
Any news on whether the club are making t-shirts to support him through this difficult time?

Re: Julian Bennett
Either too late to make the side, or cup-tied... he's not playing against Hereford, who are 2-1 up at half-time. :D
(Edit...Hereford now 3-1 v Slops)

Re: Julian Bennett
A donation box should be put in place next home game to raise awareness, it has got to stop, too many players' careers have ended this way.

I'm not a Scouser, but a minute's silence seems appropriate.

I've just knocked up this little song as a tribute to him..................but need a tune to go with it.
Any suggestions ?

I couldn't care less if he did or he didn't, I was having a good old laugh at Shrewsbury.

Trite comments like yours in a thread as serious as this don't seem right somehow. Poor Julian is hitting rock bottom, and all you can do is throw in a smiley face? Get a grip!

Re: Julian Bennett
I've just set up a Just Giving page for you all to donate to Julian. Nobody should have to go through times like these without the help of the fans that have supported him during his career.

Re: Julian Bennett
I spoke to Stefan Gamble this afternoon and can reveal that the club are giving serious thought to postponing Tuesday's game. The news has deeply affected everyone at the club and players simply aren't in the right frame of mind to play football.
There are also plans for a barely recognisable picture of Julian's face to be added to the scoreboard forever.

Does anyone have the photo mock-up of that available? I'd love a limited edition print to remember him by.

Re: Julian Bennett
It's a measure of how seriously the club are taking the tributes to Julian that this computer generated image has been released today.*

Re: Julian Bennett
Brilliant photo! The fact that people are already going to the stadium just to see the Julian Bennett Memorial Scoreboard is testament to the forward thinking of the Gambolian/Moleite regime.
I would be VERY surprised if we don't put another 2,000 on the gate tomorrow. How wonderful if something so positive was to come out of such a tragic situation!

Re: Julian Bennett
It looks like the club are pressing on with tomorrow's fixture. As difficult as this will be it is probably the right call.

Looks like Julian has come through the darkest period of his career. Let's just hope the press will give him and his family the privacy he needs to re-build his confidence after the awful trauma he has been through!
