F.A. Cup Prediction League Table 2011-12
Evening all, sorry for the short delay since last Sunday in publishing the R1 table, been one of those weeks! :?
Anyway, here it is. The big winners after Round 1 were Maverick, Saigon and stig231 with 5 points each. Well done to all three of you! Only one player hit a 0. Hard luck latvian! One player (who shall remain nameless!) lost a point due to, although getting a correct result, forgetting that a cup shock had to be where the teams were from different divisions...D'Oh!
Looking forward to R2 in a few weeks time!
Mods - please could you make this thread a sticky as the comp is underway now. Ta!

Re: F.A. Cup Prediction League Table 2011-12
Morning everyone, here is the updated table after last weekend's FA Cup 2nd Round.
Congratulations to Tinned and gerryhatrick who both scored 5 points!! There was a good haul of points from quite a few others, scoring 4 points, all of which leaves SaigonSaddler in top spot now (I'm sure we'll hear from him shortly! ).
The 3rd round is 7th/8th of Jan, so I'll start the new thread on Tuesday 3rd Jan, so as not to cause confusion with predictions for the League 1 games on 2nd Jan. Merry Christmas one and all!! :D

Re: F.A. Cup Prediction League Table 2011-12
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear --
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.'

Good weekend of 3rd round FA Cup action and there a good number that benefitted from it!
Top scorers were, and congratulations to, Whitti Steve, Asps, and FBIG, who all scored 5 points! There were a few 4 point hauls as well so the table has tightened up as people take a leap towards the top. Watch out Saigon!

More than a few hours have passed. I think saigon is still passing the Slagroom cheesecake mix... Perhaps he used it as an enema, as he must have been feeling rather full of s...

.....lagroom?
I have to say that my current imperial prediction status is not, in fact, better than Flipino/Slagroom/Elk picture sex in the short term. It does however, leave a lovely warm glow of supreme superiority that is perhaps longer lasting and more fulfilling over a much longer period.
I shall keep interested predictors informed in the fornication vs prediction status debate as it unfolds.

Below is the new FA Cup prediction league table after the 4th round last weekend.
Well done to stig231 and canadian saddler who top scored with 4 points. Lots of 3 pointers so not much movement up the table. Saigon now two points clear after a couple of close chasers scored less than most.
Next round in 2 weeks!!

"If"?
"What's this "if" business?"
(He said over-confidently, part enjoying the position of superiority fashioned from a combination of skill and pure chance, and part goading lady luck into some kind of horrific decline in fortune).
"Superstition - pah!"
PINK Which is code #FF00BF
Or SALMON PINK Which is code #FF0080
I think the first one is best
:D
Nothing from Manchester recently. If it wasn't for the increase in the games played column with associated non-movement in his points gained column, I wouldn't even be aware of his existence or participation in these games.

It feels right this time,
On my crash course with the big time,
Turned it round and found the high life!
pay no mind to the distant thunder
Good day to be alive, sir! Good day to be alive!
Don't it feel right like this?
All the pieces fall to my wish!
I can see what seems to be, and almost certainly is, the soothing light at the end of my tunnel!

Here is the updated table after Round 5 last weekend. Lots of sligtly unexpected results it seems as a third of predictors scored 0!
Top scorers were Welsh Saddler and Saigon with 3 points each. Well done to both! Lots of points to play for as we head for the QF round and beyond!

Re: F.A. Cup Prediction League Table 2011-12
Here is the updated table after R6 (Quarter Finals) last Saturday.
The Tottenham v Bolton game was counted as void but there were still some cracking points from the 3 games!
The round's winner was Fray Bentos Is God! with 5 points, congrats! This was closely followed by four people who scored 4 points, including our clear leader! But the pressure is being kept on him, and with double points in the semi final and final rounds, he is still catchable!
I've changed the format of the first two columns so it matches the other prediction league table and avoids any confusion (for me mainly!!)
Semi Finals are weekend of 14/15 April, so the thread will be started in the week leading up to it.

Last year was some nonsense about predicting extra time results - which is why everyone went for normal time draws and extra time results.
FACT 8)
Maybe the rules will change for you next year (assuming you can improve enough) :D
