Not been a Saddler for long but proud that Walsall chose this season to be awful and then produce a day like today! Really enjoyed it, glad it wasn't against Wolves or any other rival mind, the fact that we had nothing against Southampton and applauded them just added to the great day. Plus I've never been to St Marys, add to the collection!

Re: Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
We had a great time after the game with about 30 of us waiting by the team bus. Needless to say the players were buzzing but only to happy to pose for photos and sign autographs. When dan mole came out with butler the chants of sign him up were loud and clear. I commented to Andy the next thing he should be signing is a 3 year deal.
It was a fantastic end to a memorable first season for my lad. Meet the manager at the start(less said about that the better) watching a game with the match sponsor's, becoming the poster boy for the new season ticket campaign, having his photos with all the players at the open training session and then being part of the festivitys today and being around the team coach today. If these premiership fans kids could experience half of what my lad has this season we would have no problem in gaining extra support for the future.

All 22 Walsall players were excellent, as was The King Alfred before the game. :D

An interesting choice of adjective there, Metfanwy. I shudder to think how "interesting" he is!
In the words of Barry Davies, "interesting, very interesting!"
Top day: feeling very hoarse, little bit tender but most of all, very proud to be a saddler. Big love to Deano and the lads for pulling it off. UTS

A really top day. It is why you love football and why you love Walsall. I have no voice.

What a day!!
I have woke up this morning to bruises, a dead leg, no voice, a deflateable pink saxaphone and the worst hangover in history- but it was worth it!!
Was Mackens 'goal' offside?? I couldnt tell. I felt that if Grigg has gone over when challenged in the box we would have had our first penalty since we were founded.
Southampton fans were brilliant yesterday.
Onwards and upwards, play-offs next season.

This is about the 1000th time of said this but it's important to say it again, Dean Smith you are an absolutely legend and you should be very very proud of yourself for what you have done since being manager of Walsall.
Can't wait till next season now so we can see what Smith is really capable of.
UTS!!

What a top day - reminded me very much of Swindon a few years ago. Shame I could hang around for long to witness the party afterwards. Also, no need to contact any divorce lawyers as my wife's Southampton didn't send us down! :D

So so so so so so so so so proud! well up that happy!
Surreal having a standing ovation from the Saints fans.
We can't adapt to a defensive plan, looked much better when we were attacking.
second goal was never offside.
Darren Byfield should of battered that steward.
sexy loud saddlers!
I <3 Andy Butler.
Jimmy Walker is still too good for this league

An absolutely outstanding performance by the team and the management!
Also full credit to those fans that never gave up and 'believed' right through the darkest hours when relegation seemed a almost certain reality.
Really proud of the club and especially Smith, who deserves manager of the season for this achievement - not just this division either!!!
BRILLIANT!!! :D :D :D

I'm sure none of us would do any such thing.
