Quite remarkable - as noteable as Sir Ray getting us up in 99. Deano, you are now a legend.

Absolutely brilliant, no shame in getting beaten today, but we did it by a point, and from where we were in January, that is truly an amazing escape act!
God, my stomach is STILL churning, thought the nerves would have given way to the joy by now! :?

Unbelievable! Almost two hours of torture, well worth it now. Off for some celebration drinks, challenge now is explaining to Americans how losing is a cause for celebration.

Re: Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
It was the valiant 3-1 defeat that I predicted, but who cares!!
Dean Smith has done a simply magnificent job, bearing in mind the position we were in when he took over. You could say that Plymouth's 10 point deduction played its part in many ways, but that should not detract from what has been a great escape.
Well done to all concerned, and I hope the 1,662 Saddlers at St Mary's have a great night. The rest of us certainly will.

Re: Southampton (A) League 1 Saturday 7/5/11.
A very emotional day today. Spent this morning and early afternoon at hospital with very poorly father in law who is now stable but still very ill, followed that with a nail biting stomach churning afternoon.
My nerves are totally shot and I have tears in my eyes but at least my wife knows she can now talk to me for the rest of the day.

In the dark days watching the utter crud offered by Hutchings I never thought this day would come.
It is a monumental achievement by Dean Smith and I honestly didnt think it was possible.
Thank you Dean for giving us our pride and our Walsall back - You deserve all the plaudits - the greatest of great escapes.

Don't think anything can phase me now, but it's times like this when I feel so very far away from the Saddler's family.
Have a great night all, I will be downing a few and thinking of you.

Yessirs, Northern Wisconsinites at the Deep Water Grille & Bar are going to be treated to an array of Saddlers jukebox classics this evening, amazing escape, Dean Smith needs keys to the town, Ledesma & Butler need contracts; this little club of ours, Jeff surely now has got to let it shine, up, up, UP THE SADDLERS!!!!!

"Oh, happy days! When Deano walked..." ON WATER!
Thanks, Deano and all the others who have contributed to a great turn-around.
What a great day! And many thanks to The Posh for doing the bizz when they could have settled for a comfortable play-off spot and a day off!
