I think we will win 3-1!
I'd love to beat these, my mate at work is a Wednesday fan and is going in their end, and he has been predicting they will send us falling! Shame about the £50 he has had to pay me as a result of him betting me Wednesday would finish in the top 2!

Making my long awaited comeback, havent been since the Dag and Redbridge game at home. (Which means we will probably lose).
These are crap,, we can beat them, i love these teams who think they are "big" clubs after flirting with the Premier league for a few years. Their fans are also some of the biggest knobs in the world We have always done well against Megson shite too, i feel a win in my bones.
2-0 win.
Early goal, and a late goal. Someone realy crap to score. Like a Nicholls and Gray to get the other.

Tough one to call this. The pigs are on a roll of 3 wins from 4, but thats because the 3 wins have all been at home.
There last 6 aways matches have been won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2 (Brighton and Southampton).
Our record against the Pigs is very poor with 1 win in last 8.
Walsall 1 Pigs 2 on form, will our players have the character to turn the form table around?

Any slip-ups and it's league two for us - an absolute "must-win" at all costs. Nervous times for sure.

We won't get relegated if we don't win, so essentially its not a must win. However we have to start winning soon otherwise its curtains.

No of course not, but they have done more than flirt with the Premier League for a few years. I guess you are probably to young to remember. Although they never won much (anything at all) they are a pretty huge club. 45000 Every week without fail at one time. Always knocking around the top 6 of the First Division.

Like I said, clueless. You're always a big club in terms of fanbase and history, you just might not currently be a successful one. My comment was aimed more at your line "flirting with the Premier League".
Poor knowledge.

They last won something twenty years ago. They havent won a league title since 1959? Big clubs win things. Sheff Wednesday are just under achievers.
Big club, meh. "Big club" is used to often.
Either way, i doe like em.

I just hope we put up more of a fight than we did at Hillsborough. It was a damn long drive back to Oxford after that display. Wednesday didn't even need to get out of second gear. We'd better show more fight on Saturday or we're in trouble....I agree with Geoff, I think this is make or break.

Re: Sheffield Wednesdy (H) League 1 Saturday 23/4/11.
An entertaining 2-2 draw. We concede far too many goals at the moment [even though we are also capable of scoring a few], and this may prove our eventual downfall.
At least there will be decent crowd on Saturday: another 5-6,000?

I'm feeling a 1-0 Walsall here, Butler header in the last minute.
Crowd shouldn't be bad, Wednesday are bringing near enough the same amount as Brighton did so it should be 6,000+

I thought Pedagogue was the self-appointed pedant on UTS. "Essentially" no, MMF, as you say we won't get relegated if we lose - we all know that. But "effectively" we surely ALL know we HAVE to win our two home games against Sheff W and Charlton to maintain our chances of completing the great escape. If you don't accept that, you're surely in cloud cuckoo-land

Re: Sheffield Wednesdy (H) League 1 Saturday 23/4/11.
Why do we have to win the two home games? We've performed better away most of the season. Knowing this crazy team we're just as likely to get results at Oldham and even Southampton.

I remember a season, when we had hardly won an away game all season, and we still had Forest and Sheff United to play away. Relegation looked almost certain, and the rest is history. Saturday is massive though, no doubt about it.

Notts County's performance to act as a kick up the backside (hopefully)....... Saddlers 2 Wendy 0
Our goals from Macken and Grigg, SuperJim to save a penalty, attendance 5,671.
A gentleman (?) in a green coat to celebrate the win by leading a conga round the pitch at full-time

Re: Sheffield Wednesdy (H) League 1 Saturday 23/4/11.
It will be either 2-2 or 3-2 or 2-3 , the final goal going in as we desperately push for a winner. Cant decide whether we score it or they do .
Either way it will be from 20 yards, left foot into the top corner in the 89th minute.
Walsall's two goals from : Cook and Macken.
If we get a third I guess it will be Richards or Gray as its left footed.
If its 2-3 we will go down ; if its 3-2 we will stay up.
So there you have it.

The "gentleman (?) in a green coat" that I think you refer to won't be there WS, but Chris will be there with a mate as a substitute. :D

Good God MMF, you don't half want to be pedantic about this, mate. :) As I see it (you know, MY point of view, the one I have, the one I am entitled to have, and the one I am experienced enough to have, but which may turn out to be totally wrong because THAT'S FOOTBALL for you) on current form, of the four games we have, the two most winnable are the home games. If Charlton perform to potential rather than form, then I guess we'll struggle to win and Oldham away may indeed be a better bet for 3 points.
I doubt if many will be expecting us to lose two at home and win two away, but obviously it's possible, even though unlikely.
So, on balance - and ONLY on balance - I think the chances are we need (even maybe have) to win the home games and hope and pray for (rather than expect) a positive result in the away games.

Our away form is terrible, just 17 points all season, thats why.
I believe only Swindon have obtained less points and wins on their travels then us.
Our away form is the main reason we are in this mess in the first place.

It isn't a must win, but we need to put ourselves in a position over the last three games where it is in our hands and the only way to do that is to win on Saturday and hope other results go our way. For what it is worth, I think we are going to pick up 6 points this weekend - but I am bloody nervous!
