The Germans were superb.
More teams let me down than really excited me though. Italy, Brazil, France, England.
Netherlands vs. Spain. WORLD CUP FINAL 11/07/2010

3 of those teams have dropped places in the FIFA rankings.
Unbelievably 1 team has risen.......guess which one! :?

I think it's because 2 of the major teams above us, France and Italy totally bombed in the group stages so they drop below us, but only 1 team, Uruguay, rise above us with their run to the semi-finals. This means we gain a place by virtue of being average. :?
The likes of Spain, Holland, Brazil, Germany and Argentina were already above us and stay above us.

Actually on checking the rankings again it seems France were already below us and it's Portugal that has dropped below us. :?

I'm also assuming the FIFA rankings take into account our successful qualification campaign.

They are, but less points through qualification and less/more depending on who you are playing and where they are ranked.
We're only 7th due to Egypt, Croatia & Russia not qualifying, and France, Italy and Portugal not having as good as a tournement as they'd of expected. Any other group and Serbia could well of sprung a few suprises too, they could of been above us.
Shocked to see Chile 10th, I mean, they did well.. didnt think they did that well though..
