2-0 win...Donny are even worse than us, and we always seem to pull out a result when Merson's job is in danger.
The difference this week is that Merson isn't on the pitch to save his own job, as he did against Huddesfield earlier this year with a quite exceptional performance. It'll be interesting to see if HIS players FIGHT for HIS job. Saturday is D-Day for Merson, and I think he knows it.

Why are Donny worse than us? 4 wins and a draw in their last 6, a good manager, some good young players and on a decent run.
I'd agree that Merson can pull a result out of the bag when needed though. He motivates them when he needs to, to pull out a result for him to save his job and they keep doing it because they know they've got it easy with him in charge.

If we play the same team as yesterday, especially the same defence I am expecting 1-3 or 1-4. they can't handle the physical or pacey stuff and Donny are well capable of dishing some of that out as well as playing some decent football. Roper and Gerrard are our only hope next week and I just can't see Merson picking either. 3-0 to us then!

I'll get slagged off for this I'm sure, but hey, I'm past caring.
If one defeat is enough to send Merson packing then I'm afraid I won't lose much sleep if we lose Saturday.
That's just how bad it's got. Sad ain't it
The only reason for this thinking is that a new manager could easily double the point haul that Merson could muster over the rest of the season.
Look at the bigger picture.

I've just looked up the referee appointment for this match.
Paul Melin is the official.... anyone remember him?
One word.... SLOUGH! :x
I can't really remember the referee's performance at Slough, just the dismal, lack of effort shown by our players, and the cock up made by Barlow bringing on the sub at the wrong time which led to their winner.

After Saturday we will have played 18 games. If we can get Merson out by our trip to Barnsley then that gives the new manager maybe 26 games to turn our fortunes around. I am in the same boat as Dave and yes dave it is a sad situation. But I suggest a chant aimed at Bonser about this appointment, it would have more of an impact (i.e Why did you employ this idiot?)

The referee was o.k. It was the assistant referee who missed the blatant off-side for their first goal.

I have gvien up on predicting the scores but one thing is that some fans will be out for mersons head regardless of the result so that wont help the team but since the team only perform for 45 minutes a game roper must be put in this is a watershed game something has to change perfelebly with a experinced manager at the wheel.

Meant to tell you, I had a dream last night about Saturday and I fore-saw the score. I never do this, so it must be true.
I hate to say it, but we're going to win 5-1 and Larossa is going to get the first goal. I'm sticking a £5 on it as I reckon the odds will be cracking.
Everyone do it, its a guranteed cert. I'm tellin ya...

I had a dream about the playoff final v Reading 2 nights before it happened. I saw the winning goal through the eyes of Byfield for about 5 seconds and dreamt we would ultimately win.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to get any info from the beyond on this result, I see Paul Merson's face and then there's a ugly bird with big tits that keeps getting in the picture.
