Not going but hope it will be a good game and a good saddlers victory. I either go to the dingles or baggies this year, like most seasons, its the dingles.

Prices are same as the dingles games
Hopefully it will be a good game tomorrow. It was evident from the second half tuesday that we are trying to play a slick passing game, and we all know how west brom and di matteo like to play football. Hope to see some good football from both teams.

How many do you think there will be. I hope there is more than tuesday so we am not out numbered. WBA will have 1 and a half stands i would think.

I think WBA will play their first team considering they sent their kids to Kidderminster in the week.
"Baggies supporters should head for the Walsall Bite Size Stand turnstiles"- when did we change the name of the stand??

I'm nearly there - got as far as the Imperial. Expect it to be 4-1, like the last time I saw us play West Brom.

I hear Richards would have scored in he first minute if it wasnt for a fine save by Carson. Not a bad performance so far according to WM

2-2
Moore handled the ball going through and scored.
I hear Gilmartin brought Moore down for the baggies penalty, but there is talk of him diving.

Personally i thought he got a hand to the ball for the pen. Although he still dosent look confident in that goal.
Still a solid proformance by the lads tho.

Re: Saddlers v. the Tesco Bagladies - 25/7/09
Good performance, especially in the first half, Nicholls looked lively and for about 20 minutes Bradley ran the show. Deeney was anonymous but most others were solid. Richards scored a very nice goal, but overall I didn't rate him and was shocked by his MotM. I really don't think he's the answer for the left wing, Him and Vincent would be the slowest left side in the league.
Second half wasn't great, mainly youngsters being brought on, Richard Davies looked handy though and I was impressed by Westlake at right-back.

He has composure on the ball & a decent man for a flick on. However he is incredible paceless, possible the slowest striker ive seen us have. Due to this, he cant seem to do anything facing the goal. We still need an out & out striker if im honest. Nicholls & troy will chip in, but we still dont have a "fryatt" mold striker.

Anyone who saw that game still fancy Gilmartin at #1?
He ain't good enough, I'm afraid. Doubt he ever will be. Shame really, because we'd done very well, working hard and trying to play passing football.
Ah well.

What did rene do wrong today? It WASN'T a penalty! ... At the the game i thought it was a definate penalty, but after seeing the highlights the ball definatly changed its path from the direction moore was going. Rene definatly got good touch on it! Other than that he did nothing wrong accept one bad kick.
I still don't think he is goos enough but it WASN't his fault today!
Thats all i'm saying

Having seen it on Sky, got to say it looked a dead cert penalty and Rene didn't seem to surprised when it was given, from the brief Sky Sports News clip.

It does look a penalty. I thought the same at the game
But if you follow the game by the rulebook then it wasn't a penalty. Gilmartin definatly got a hand on it.
Ahwell im not too fussed .... Was a good game to watch i thought :)

Thats all i'm saying
1) The penalty - looked like one to me, but I haven't seen the replay.
2) Kicking still poor
3) This is the main one for me - he has no command of his box whatsoever. Every cross, every corner, Albion looked likely to score. The players in front seem to have zero confidence in him - count the number of hasty hoofs away second half.
Now, I know we've got Ince who will be first choice, but if he's injured (and at 37 or so, there's every chance), suspended or on international duty, I think we've got a problem. I know about not frittering away resources on experienced back-up that won't play, but I'd rather us have a kid on the bench for emergencies and us dip into the loan market should the need arise.
Another pre-season throw-away so Gilmartin can get a run-out. Anyone remember last season against the Villa? 2-1 up with 20 minutes to go, off goes Ince, on comes Gilmartin, we lose 3-2.

I took someone with me to the game at Sheffield last week. They had never watched Walsall play before, and had no idea who any of the players were (part time Albion fan, bless) After the game she said to me " I don't think much of your reserve goalkeeper, he's a right clown" I pointed out that comment was copyrighted as I laughed till I nearly exploded :D She was of course talking about Ince who came on for the second half

Scott - I haven't seen yesterday's incident so I can't comment on it but I can comment on your erroneous statement. Under the Laws of Association Football, it is not relevant that the player touched the ball. It is what he does to the opposing player that matters (and where the referee has to judge the intent of the tackler - not always easy - and leads to much argument/debate!). It is perfectly possible to play the ball AND foul an opponent at the same time.
