I agree.

He is south african and not english , but he is proud to be playing international cricket for england. Im a big kp fan i think he will do well as england captain.

He would've been even prouder to be playing for his home nation, but they didn't want him. I loved it in the interview the morning after he was made captain. He very nearly said "it's always a great honour to represent your country", but managed to back out and switch it to "to be made captain of the team"

Its not that they didnt want him, he decided to leave as he felt the quota system in south africa would harm his development as a crickter , its south africas loss england now the world best batsman as their test and one day captain.

Certainly the evidence of speaking to people from Warwickshire and Cannock, when Pietersen played there when he was younger. I think Notts members and supporters wouldn't hold him in particularly high esteem either. I hope he has matured in the meantime because certainly early in his career he only cared about one thing: KP. The way he plays his innings is fine, IMO, because he only scores runs playing in that manner. It's his attitude that concerns me, although I hope that he proves me wrong in shaking off that stigma.

Some batsmen thrive on the responsibility of captaincy and their batting improves. As a captain,I think he turn out either as a Ponting or a Botham. Can't see anything in between.

I've read and seen a few interviews with KP, I have a strange feeling this isn't going to work

SA all out for 194 before the end of the first day. I'd have taken that, if offered.
Just hope we can hold it together with the bat now. If ever there was a time for the batsmen to shine, now is it.
