Millwall (H) F.A.Cup 3rd Round Saturday 5/1/08. kick off 2pm
No need for form guide this is the F A Cup anything can and normally does happen.
You won't need me to remind you that we have already beaten the Lions twice this season , that will not make the tie any easier.
Prediction 2-0 home win Bradley and Ricketts to score. and I fancy Chasetown to draw with Cardiff .

I'm going for a definite postponment with all the talk of the big freeze stopping all league and cup games until mid - March :(

Is it the day after tomorrow, Tone?
Hope we can win this one - a cup run would be great.

Will Harris be suspended after his sending off?
Can someone please explain the logic of our kick off being at 2? It plays havoc with my lunch. Looks like it's Warwick services again.

Millwall seam to have picked up a bit of form since we beat them so I don't think it will be such an easy game as it was in the league. Also in the cup anything can go and statistics say that it’s very rear that a team will beat the same team 3 times in a season.
Although saying that I feel that we will be strong enough with or without Tommy Mooney to get past them but I can see it being a close and edgy came with us winning it by 1 goal.

Millwall were pants two weeks ago, I expect a Walsall win maybe 2-0.

Indeed Ian , since our 3-0 league over them victory the Lions have beaten Brighton 3-0 .Crewe 2-0 both at home and drawn 1-1 at Northampton . no cup tie is easy .

Walsall to narrowly win 2-1.
We're missing Mooney so it will be a very different game to the 3-0 in the league.

A nervy, scraped but welcome 1-0 win to take us onto a big 4th round draw.
Deeney. Crowd, a poor 4,328.

It appears that the combined might of the Staffordshire and West Midlands plods can't cope with the vast crowds at Chasetown (1-00 p.m. k.o.), Bescot, Dinglehampton and Vile Park.
........................or the thought of Cardiff, Millwall, ManUre and Dingles fans in close proximity fills them with dread!

Haven't they changed the kick off of all four games so no-one kicks off at three? Where is the logic? I don't see how this helps at all. If they are coming for a ruck at three, why not at two? Gives them an hours extra drinking time before they meet Man U coming out of Villa park.

Exactly what we said. And they say the police don't have arrest targets to hit bonuses.
Methinks they fancy a ruck...the police that is.

Not often one team beats another 3 times in a season - this worries me :?

Re: Millwall (H) F.A.Cup 3rd Round Saturday 5/1/08. kick off 2pm
This could be a very tricky one as we will be without Mooney (injured), Gerrard (suspended) and Sweeney (not available for selection). Will Roper return or will Weston switch to centre-back to accommodate Taundry at right-back? Will Dobson and/or Boertien return in midfield (or Boertien at left-back and Fox in midfield)? Will Ricketts be on his own, up front, again - or will either Deeney or Nicholls partner him? Some interesting selection choices for Dicky Dosh.
Millwall's form has improved markedly since we beat them, recently (it could hardly have got worse!), and they are quite capable of a shock result if we are not at our best.

My team would be:
Ince
Taundry, Weston, Dann, Fox
Sonko, Bradley, Wrack, Demontagnac
Deeney, Ricketts
with Boertien (if fit) and Nicholls to be introduced if Mr Sunshine and Asbo aren't pulling their weight

And me except I'd put Fox in the middle and Taundry left back. I'd also be tempted to drop Sonko for Nicholls.

I don't think there's any way I'd put Weston at centre back. It's very different to full back and I don't think he's ever played there before. Fox has done, so I'd rather he played there than Weston, but isn't this a good opportunity to get Roper a game? If he's a part of the squad then he needs to play the games that one of Gerrard and Dann aren't available for, if not then I think we need to be looking at getting some League 2 side to cough up some cash for him in the next month (as if he isn't going to play on Saturday then the argument that we need him as cover is redundant). I've been a big fan of Roper in the past, so this isn't a dig at him, but it's a waste of his time to be sat on the bench week in, week out with no hope of getting a game.
Other than that I agree with that side (although I'm still wary of playing Sonko again after Tuesday's "effort"). Is there no way that Sweeney will be back? I guess that he probably hasn't trained since Tuesday as if he's had this winter vomiting bug that's going round then you're meant to give it at least 48 hours before going back to work, so presumably it's unlikely?
