Player F is one you're calling [post moderated]
Player S is the Sausage Gate Player, identity unknown.

I thought some people were calling Player F' [post moderated]

Given that Player S is a lookalikey of Player F, perhaps we should refer to him as Player SF

In fact if Player X signs, I'll start a new thread to clear some of this up !

If we sign him and he doesn't produce the goods, Bonser won't part with cash for a signing ever again

FACT!

It had better come off, pressure is now on the DD!

Thanks for the great wind-up lads because the man in question came on as sub last night for his current side.
So anyone getting excited might as well put the champagne away for a little while

It wasn't a wind up, just someone was told, and was also told it wasn't for sure, but decided to start a thread anyway

Yeah, but if he does produce the goods and we sell him for a sizeable profit in a few years time (hopefully as a Championship club) then Bonser may be happier to take the odd chance again in the future. I guess the skill is in picking the right player to take the gamble on - so, as you say, the pressure is on DD to get this right.

Either way, I'm not sure that this is really such a big departure from the past. If the fee is £200k then that's not that much more than what we paid for Jorge - and prices have gone up in that time. And the overall package for Merson can't have been that cheap when you think how much money he must have been on compared to the rest of our players.

It's frustrating for the fans, but in some ways it suits the club not to be seen to spend big - it makes it much less likely that other clubs and players will hold us to ransom for more money. Look how much over the odds Peterborough have had to pay for players recently (and not just Keates and Westwood - they've signed Conference players for six-figure sums - much more than Wolves paid for Kightly). That doesn't seem to happen to us so often. Of course, the other side of the coin is that we can lose out on players that we do want, but at our level there's usually plenty more fish in the sea, so that's probably the lesser of two evils.

That is what some people still can't get in to their head. Money has been spent at Walsall, in fact it is the fact we spent that money that we ended up with problems. Our last season in the Championship, take a look at some of the players we had, anyone think they were cheap ? add that to the fact Bonser put the prices right down to try and attract more fans, which failed miserably by the way, cos the people of Walsall couldn't be arsed

It doesn't ever concern me that we don't splash the cash often because money has never and will never guarantee success, lessons can be learned from the likes of Peterboro that cash in the wrong hands may as well be burnt

Long live Bawwy Fwy

Just cause said player came on a sub doesn't mean the deal is dead does it?

Doubt he will tell anyone anything now, seeing as people go and start threads , when he has stated it wasn't definite

That explains the healthy glow then... And to think I always thought it was a result of batting for the other side.

Not much activity around this morning when I went to collect my season tickets (served by Wendy Monk) :P

But they have changed the offices around a bit, they now have about 6 or 7 people monitiring UTS all day now instead of just one
