My favourites are Forrest Gump, Scent of a Woman and I also like American Beauty and Trainspotting but I doubt many people would rate these as the best ever!

Spot the first bird to reply when she says Dirty Dancing

I think this might depend on age!

The finest? Citizen Kane - no doubt whatsoever.

Throw in The Third Man, The Seven Samurai, Casablanca, The African Queen, Lawrence of Arabia for starters. Can we have desert island films? Eight might be a little easier.

My favourite's The Matrix but like Neil said it depends on age!
I'm sure there are better films out there though.

Also, Jimmy Stewarts "its a Wonderful life" is a truly excellent film.

1) Happy Gilmore - Adam Sandler is hillarious. Finest slapstick ever.
2) Stand By Me - Just a darn good book and story
3) Dogma - Jay n Silent Bob at there best
4) Miracle - Kurt Russell carries the coaching role off great
5) The Talented Mr Ripley. - Law, Damon and Paltrow. The chemistry is great.

Silence Of The Lambs was an absolute fantastic film, best ever in my opinion.
Also Notting Hill and Pretty Woman.

Best recent film is Team America, but my all time favourite is Escape from the dark, an old b movie that came out in the early 80's

Pretty Woman (when I want cheering up!)
Sound of Music (For a good singalong!)

Strange isn't it? Most people would agree about Pulp Fiction, but I hated it! It's like I couldn't understand the fuss about Gladiator - the most predictable plot in history. Entertaining yes, but a great film? You could have put Victor Mature in it and shot it in the fifties and no one would have rated it at all.

As for the good time films, strangely enough, Shrek would have to be up there.
