aint supported Walsall for long, used to support Man Utd when i was younger
First game was vs Wimbledon in the FA Cup third round i think the year before we got relegated
Went to a couple more game that season but one game sticks in my mind - against wimbledon again the following year, the man next to us said while we were winning 1- 0 'a wins good but we need a few goals' too right he was, if we had scored a couple more goals we wouldnt of gone down

Talking of the early days at Bescot... anyone remember the International tournament held here (u-19's or u-21's maybe?)?
I recall attending the England v Holland game... loads of youngsters who went on to even bigger and better things... the front two were Julian Joachim and Robbie Fowler!
That was a cracking match

Got vouchers at the tournament which enabled me to get tickets for Euro '96 - we went to the boring opener against Switzerland at Wembley.
Other names from that tournament included Paul Scholes & Nicky Butt I think, plus quite a few others who went on the better things

At least you saw the light. Can you just convince all the other thousands of glory hunting Man Utd and Liverpool supporters in Walsall now? then we'd be laughing. Well Bonser would be.
My first game was in 1984 at Fellows Park against Bradford when I was 7.

Alan Buckley scored and became an instant hero
Mike Kearns was in goal
great days
Was that Chester canadian? remember a Boxing day match which we won 2-0,the only thing i really remember was Garry Shelton heading on a corner for Buckley to head in inside the 6 six yard box.probably the two smallest players on the pitch.there was another match against Chester-probably later-when Buckley scored with an overhead kick from 25 yards out.I never saw Allan Clarke, but Buckley was the best player I've ever seen in a Walsall shirt.

My first was Walsall v Portsmouth 2002/2003. We lost 2-1, the game where Merson thought he had scored! Then the next game I went to was Walsall v Derby when Junior scored a hat-trick, I've been hooked since and had a season ticket the next season.

So you were the kid in the pram were you SJ. Me and my mates used to pull faces at some brat, screaming his head off, in a pram in Wallows Lane after a game at Fellows Park. Have we damaged you for life. Or putting it another way, are we to blame? 8)

Mine was the glamour FA Cup tie that was Walsall v Lincoln United in 1997, always remember it for three reasons:
1) Lincoln had one shot on target all game, and that was a miss-hit cross.
2) The piece of rubbish that masquerades as a score board told everyone that we were playing; Tincan Utd
3) Being amazed that a manager of a league football team was having a fag next to the dugout, whilst looking utterly uninterested about the game.
