In light of what’s going on in Syria, would it be more prudent to pull out all the “Allied” teams from the World Cup?
At the end of the day, it’s a game of Football, is it preferable to landing tons of bombs on what most certainly be some innocents?
Putin will be using the World Cup to glorify the Russian Bear, wouldn’t it be better to deny him that opportunity?
Should the World Cup be cancelled?
The place for all general topics not related to the Saddlers, plus the ever-popular Prediction League. Keep it fun.

Re: Should the World Cup be cancelled?
Politics and sport eh - they shouldn't mix.
And any politician mixing them deserves a booing or worse.
Anything which brings nations together is good so I'm ok with the Cup going ahead.
I think the main allies - us and the US (they're not even in it) will not progress very far anyway and I won't watch after we go out.
I think any glorification died with the end of the USSR anyway.
History tells us many English men and women were entranced by the ideals of communism only to find the people's paradise let people in but not out and was an ideal breeding ground for corruption and brutality.
Isn't it strange that there are always one or more countries or leaders threatening to bring world order to an end?
Maybe our vast allied cyberwar department can win and we'll all be happy ever after?

Let it continue if it must but id love us, and hopefully others, to pull out.
Whole thing would be an embarrassment to Russia then.
The fact were still going shows what the FA thinks of fan safety.

It could only do any good if all nations pulled out or FIFA cancelled it, If only a few countries probably from the west Putin would still call it a victory claiming the remaining the remaining countries fully backed him.

It should be, but it won't. FIFA likes Russian cheques.
The FA should pull the England side out of this corrupt money laundering farce of a competition, again though they like the cash.

I think England should turn up, but underperform and slither through the group stage before getting soundly beaten at the first knockout stage to El Salvador, Tonga or Eritria.
We'd have the satisfaction of knowing that this was our dirty protest and we'd really shown the Russians.

And after our shock exit, the face of the hapless England manager is displayed on the front page of The Sun, superimposed in a full colour image of Britain's least favourite Christmas vegetable. Yes, Turnip Taylor is resurrected as Gareth Sproutgate - green and full of wind.
Meanwhile on page 2, Jeremy Corbyn continues to deny any Russian involvement in the Salisbury nerve agent attack, the chemical bombing of Douma and that Rah Rah Rasputin was Russia's Greatest Love Machine.

If only everyone followed Italy's example, who preempted all this trouble and pulled out ages ago
