will he start with the same team tonight?
Fitzwater surely over Roberts and he may drop Chambers?
Expect 4-4-2 but not sure where that means Oztumer will play.
Will he play upfront or on the wing?
I'm expecting
Roberts
Devlin, Guthrie, Fitzwater, Leahy
Kouhyar, Chambers, Dobson, Morris
Bakayoko, Oztumer
which just demonstrates how weak our squad is.
Suppose he could play Cuvellier on the wing.

Re: Wigan Athletic (H) Wed 21st Mar, 7.45pm
I'd been trying to think of tonight as a "free hit" against a ridiculously strong squad on paper, but recent results for Fleetwood, MK, Northampton, & Doncaster, to either close the gap or overtake us, got me thinking otherwise- it was starting to feel like one game less, with a smaller cushion.
However, I've just had a gander at all the remaining fixtures, and Wigan still have to play Bury , Oldham, MK, Rochdale, Fleetwood, Wimbledon, & Doncaster. I feel better now.

The unthinkable is rapidly becoming a reasonable assumption following some good results from those around us this week. We have no match on Saturday, so, once again those around us will be gaining momentum and shrinking that 4 point gap between us and the drop zone!
So, we MUST hope for a Northamptonesque/Salop point at the very least, anything less and we are REALLY in deep dodo's.
So come on you reds, let's beat the bookies on this one...WE CAN DO IT!!!!! (sorry about the shouting....)

Thankfully BIG mistake from Wigan leaving Griggsy on the bench, he knows the ground well and he IS like Gary Madine, a 'goal machine' just wish we had one up front!

Not been this nervous of a result since that relegation decider home match against Rothrum all those years back, we were relying on Gillingham if I recall and it all went pear shaped.
Sheisen! just see the goal flash, didn't last long did we?

Methinks we may be doomed..................the bookies and 'form' know what's what, I wonder if it's as bad to watch as the stats show?

Performance wasn't too bad for first half hour but Wigan much more dangerous in final third which isn't surprising.
As I said before kick off tonight isn't really a game to judge Keates (especially as he isn't even in charge seemingly).
Pompey and Bradford are games that can be judged.

0-3 ........ and it's nowhere near half-time yet!!!
Odds for a Walsall win are now 1001 to 1 ........ worth a cheeky fiver? :D

I will give him a bit longer - probably 12-18 months at least unless he is utterly cack.

Re: Wigan Athletic (H) Wed 21st Mar, 7.45pm
Bet the Fleetwood fans are rubbing their hands with glee at possibly sending us down in the last match of the season?
Just hope it won't become an utter tonking....just shows how bad we have become, there is little alternative to the type of team we can put out there, we know how good Wigan are but come on..................................
now 0-3 I hear, we have now lost 2 possible defensive advantages, 'games in hand' and 'slightly better goal difference'.
We ARE in trouble, no doubt about in now.

Re: Wigan Athletic (H) Wed 21st Mar, 7.45pm
Listening to talk sport for the first half hour relatively even but 2 premiership worthy goals and an error for the third. Scoreline too harsh for Dean Keates.
Yes Wigan are the better team and will win. Walsall have created chances.

I'm not surprised we're struggling, but did not expect this scoreline in the first half!
Hopefully DK will get us across that line and secure league one football next season, but it could go either way.

Apparently Baka missed a good chance seconds before their first goal. An 'air shot with his head' was how they described it on Talksport.

Can anyone imagine what Keatsy is thinking...."What have I done?"
Just goes to show what a mess Whitney has left us in.
We will have to rely on maximum points at home against our level of opposition, and how often do we cock up that scenario?
