Tynings Lane Secondary Modern

Thu Feb 09, 2006 7:51 pm

I went to Tynings Lane Secondary Modern in Aldridge between 1965 - 1970. We used to enter through the same gate but about 100 yards up we split, left into the Grammar School and straight on to the Sec Mod- needless to say I went straight on!
But I have been teching here in Northamptonshire for 25 years now so stuff the 11 plus.
I also went to the West Mids College at Gorway 1976-1979, anyone else got there?
I suppose I am a lot older than most, am I?
My first game was 1966 after the World Cup, I was twelve. :)

Got to the final of whatever the cup competition was for Delves Juniors. Went 2-0 up after about 20 minute but lost 4-2. I think it was to Harden? Beat Cooper & Jordan in the semis, they were our bogey team that season up until then.

I think if you went to Hatherton Lane more than likely you went to the school up the road. Neither was a bad school to be honest. BdoubleECHDALE
