And after the game there will be fans saying dont panic its the first game but I am worried the team sheet looks so young we need more older heads in it!

What for? Being offside more often and scoring even fewer goals?
Two teams? Where from? Have we had to play the under 14's ?
No trialists? With a wafer thin relegation squad? The club really do endear themselves to the fans dow they!

Re: Pre-season - Solihull Moors 15 July, 3pm
love it we have a new system as per the e&s
Joseph Masi
@JosephMasi_Star
Joe Edwards left midfield, Kieron Morris right as #saddlers stick with a 4-4-4-2 formation #saddlers #walsallfc
some ones change the rules 14 players thats one way to score its now 2-2 !!

Lost 3-2. ....Edwards with our second goal. A very young second half team but a poor result nonetheless.

Yawn. I watched Wigan draw 1-1 yesterday with Liverpool. Played all their fit first trainers mixed in with youngsters with different 11s in both halves.
Something tells me Wigan aren't top 6 PL quality and Liverpool aren't league 1 quality.
You are right people will say it doesn't matter. Because it doesn't. Yes we need a striker, I didn't work that out from today.

But last year when we won there 6-0 Whitney said it WAS important. Important for belief, confidence and momentum.
Just saying.

Come on now, it's a pre-season friendly. A work-out is all it is.

And I disagreed with him then and I was proved right considering the season we had.

The benefit of the boot camp must have a delayed reaction.

If it was intended to prepare them for preseason friendly against Solihull Moors it really was a colossal waste of money.

Re: Pre-season - Solihull Moors 15 July, 3pm
Today just confirmed what most of us already knew: we'm sh!te. FFS we can't even beat Solihull Moors. The 1st XI is just not good enough and the rest of the squad is paper thin. We lost 8-9 of the 1st team squad last season and we've signed 4 replacements. It looks like we are a lot worse than the team at the end of last season, the team that lost 3 on the bounce! We desperately need a goal scorer and another experienced central defender, otherwise it's going to be a long, hard season with only a relegation battle to look forward to. Where the eff has all the money gone?

Re: Pre-season - Solihull Moors 15 July, 3pm
First half squad was solid but with a slight lack of creativity outside of Oztumer, defensively sound though.
Second half squad was shocking, midfield was lightweight with some poor performances from many of the youngsters like Sangha and Flanagan, back 4 looked shaky and Gillespie was awful. Our most influential player was shoved out to play left wing in Joe Edwards. We looked very, very poor.

I can't really slag off any player after watching one half of a pre-season friendly.
However, Gillespie is a complete buffoon.

Don't worry, cuts will turn him into the next Gordon banks within the next 2 weeks

After we signed him, I watched those play off highlights, and thought, is this REALLY the goalie we intend to be our No.1?
What happens when he is so bad that he HAS to be dropped, there's no one else...........................

So apparently boot camp matters but losing to a dogshite team doesn't? If you think this result has no effect then you are mad. No player likes to lose.
